  1. There is quite a bit of information at the following link regarding past ballpark attendance - http://ballparksofbaseball.com/attendance.htm
  2. Yeah, that is what I thought, that you were being facetious. Just as an interesting side note: Only four teams have drawn over 4 million - New York Yankees (4 times), Toronto Blue Jays (3 times), Colorado Rockies (1 time) and New York Mets (1 time) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball_attendance_records . However, the new NY Yankees stadium and NY Mets Citi Field are both too small to draw over 4 million in 81 games, and even the Rogers Centre has fewer seats and can't draw 4 million in 81 games. Only Coors Field at 50,398 could possibly draw over 4 million of the 4 teams that previously drew 4 million. It is possible that no team will ever draw 4 million again in a regular season.
  3. I am afraid that it is still not possible. Including today's game they have an attendance of 1,502,677 + 45,962 in 40 games - http://espn.go.com/mlb/attendance . So if they drew sell outs of 49,282 for the remaining 41 games then they would have a total attendance of 1,502,677 + 45,962 + (41)*49,282 = 3,569,201
  4. There are only 81 home games in the regular season, so I think Rogers would be very happy to get to 3,200,000; that would be an average of lightly under 40,000 per game.
  5. Blue Jays are only 3.5 games out. Blue don't need any help right now, in my opinion, everything is coming together nicely.
  6. Hutchison came up the day after. Also Hale was managing.
  7. For light skinned people who burn easily then the 2nd deck is mostly shaded (the 200 level). It is rather expensive but is a great place to see the field. The only time I went this year I was in the 223 section (if I recall correctly). From now on the 200 level is where I want to sit.
  8. Strained ligaments in his big toe, but it needs a foot boot.
  9. 45,962, so still a very good crowd.
  10. Yes but based on the article he will need physical strengthening and rehab, and he is still in a foot boot.
  11. I am not sure. But I thought attendance was based on tickets sold. At least it is in the NHL where some teams are always listed as selling out even if there are empty seats.
  12. Pat or Buck said it was 45K and something.
  13. I posted a link to an article in the General thread yesterday. He probably won't be back until late July or early August. That's if things go well.
  14. I am surprised the Blue Jays didn't sell this game out.
  15. Sounds good. Barney can play 3rd tomorrow.
  16. Glasses, contacts or Lasik eye surgery?
  17. Martin should come out for Thole but Travis and Pillar need the day off.
  18. Blue Jays can't purposely strike out even if they run the score up to 20. Keep hitting Blue Jays, pad those stats.
  19. After today's win the Blue Jays are only 5 games behind Baltimore, and Seattle is beating Baltimore 8 - 1 after 4 innings, so the Blue Jays could be only 4.5 games back by the end of tonight's games.
  20. I was impressed with Goins' pitching; he threw curves, chaneups and fastballs (one was at 90 mph). He induced three weak ground balls, one which got through the infield, and one solid hit to the outfield. Initially I thought that maybe this was a phony injury in order to bring another pitcher up from AAA, but looking at the picture below, it looks like he put quite a bit of strain on his arm for someone who doesn't pitch (it certainly isn't the way he normally throws a baseball in the infield). Got to give Goins credit for giving it maximum effort.
  21. Yes, Jesse Chavez has pitched well and deserves a chance at starting for the Blue Jays if Estrada can't pitch.
  22. Blue Jays will win again tomorrow. Indians are away from home, tired and sleeping in hotel beds (I hope the beds are hard and lacking warm blankets)
  23. Don't be happy with just one. At least Saunders is hitting today.
  24. Blue Jays need the bullpen to do their job for 2 innings and the Blue Jays have 3 innings to at least tie it. You're welcome from Captain Obvious. PS: That was quick.
