  1. Agreed. I always hope for former Blue Jays to do well after being traded. Luckily Norris won't be pitching against the Blue Jays so there is no conflict.
  2. I am still angry that the Royals beat the Blue Jays yesterday . The Blue Jays have to step up to the plate and show the Royals who is the boss.
  3. Maybe it will make the difference. Thank you for the information. Volquez's pitching stats scare me.
  4. It is good to see Tulowitzki back in the lineup. They have most of their big guns in the lineup. I am hoping to see Ben Revere get on base so I can see his speed on the bases. The Blue Jays need to continue to get the 7, 8 and 9 hitters on base so that the big guns at the top of the order can drive them in. Probably the key to victory will be a strong outing by Dickey, unless the Blue Jays score 10 runs. I predict a win by the Blue Jays by a 8 - 4 score. However, I always expect the Blue Jays to win; that is why it is so disappointing when they lose. I am also really upset to see Danny Valencia go.
  5. The more I think about this the more I hate seeing Valencia go. If Kawasaki was a much better 2nd baseman than Valencia then it would make more sense to DFA Valencia, however, watching Kawasaki at 2B today was painful, I would rather have Goins at SS and Valencia at 2B (when required to give Tulowitzki a day off). i guess that the plan is for Travis to return and send Kawasaki back to AAA but who knows when that will be?
  6. Absolutely. Even with giving players a day off the Blue Jays were in a position to win today.
  7. If the Blue Jays win tomorrow then everyone will be happy again. The Blue Jays were able to come back from being down 3 - 6 to win 7 - 6 yesterday. Today it was the Royals turn to come back. The Blue Jays will have to show them who the better team is tomorrow. One thing that is for sure, is that no one will take a win for granted even if ahead by 4 runs.
  8. The good thing is that if the Blue Jays win on Sunday then they have David Price on Monday.
  9. Check the stats, Ben Revere isn't a player that knocks in many runs. He will likely score his fair share of runs because of his speed but I can see him being pinch hit for quite often if the Blue Jays need an RBI late in a game. I think Martin should have pinch hit for Revere. They would have needed to shuffle the fielders but they would have had a better chance of tying it.
  10. If the Blue Jays win tomorrow then they will have taken 3 out of 4 games against a very good team. I am sure the A lineup will be out there tomorrow. I had doubts about the Ben Revere trade. It seems like Carrera had better at bats.
  11. Maybe Smoak can play at 2B and Martin at 1B.
  12. I expect Pillar, Tulowitzki and Goins in the 9th. Then Tulowitzki can take over at SS and Goins at 2B if they can extend it to extra innings. But maybe Martin can play at 2B.
  13. This looks bad. At 5 - 1 it looked like a sure win. The Jays will need Tulowitzki to pinch hit either for Kawasaki or Goins in the 8th or 9th.
  14. Probably Goins at 3rd, Tulowitzki at SS and Kawasaki at 2B. I hate to see Valencia go.
  15. Buehrle will get them out now that it is close again.
  16. I don't like this. Time to focus Blue Jays.
  17. Thank you Donaldson and Bautista. Should be an easy win just like I predicted
  18. This hasn't been a very interesting game until now. I believe in Navarro.
  19. I don't think he is being replaced defensively since he is an excellent SS. I am sure it is just a day off to keep Tulowitzki rested. It is very likely that we will see him in the ball game at some point if the game is close or the Jays get behind. If the Jays get up by several runs then he can take a full game off. Tulowitzki has missed quite a bit of time in the past based on his games played each year - http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=3531&position=SS . I am now a big fan of Tulowitzki so I want to see him playing effectively in Toronto for several years with hopefully none on the DL.
  20. oops. It was an interesting article anyway. Thanks to Maahfaace for posting it.
  21. It won't do the Blue Jays any good if Tulowitzki is over-played and ends up missing several weeks. I predict that the Jays will win easily today. No reason, just my gut feeling that Navarro will come through big today. Smoak also is due for a big game. I expect Blue Jays to be solid defensively. It will be interesting to see what Ben Revere can do on the bases and in LF. He is a real threat to steal a base.
  22. You get thanked for "^ mods"? It doesn't take much to please some people.
  23. I have seen some improvement in Goins' eye at the plate. He is taking more pitches and I think over time this will help his run production. I think that Goins being around so many good hitters can only have a positive influence on him. Goins' base running is not bad. He can score from first on a double (he has done it a couple of times this week). Although he isn't a base stealer he isn't slow; as far as base running goes, I think that he is similar to Travis. Goins doesn't get picked off base the way Carrera did (several times) so he is an intelligent base runner. Goins needs to be able to get the bunt down though.
