    Smoak is really looking like he is reaching a new level as a player, the swings he is getting, those would be homeruns in safeco as well. He isn't hitting 350ft cheapies, he is crushing them. This team is boarderline retarded if they dont play Smoak everyday at first. I would even consider playing him over EE at this point.

    ^ I wouldn't give up anything. Based on where Dickey is now, and the fifth starter is Boyd. I wouldn't trade. I'd fire AA today, and sell off the vets for MLB ready pitching, build around Donaldson, Martin, Travis, Pillar, and Smoak. EE should be traded so Smoak can play every day. We have him cheap and under control for two more years. If we can trade Bautista, Encarnacion, Buerleh, Estrada, Cola etc. and just get two young pitchers with the potentiol of being good starters, we can jumpstart the retooling. I

    This whole players crashing down is nothing new to this franchise. Speaking of Rios, in 2009 Lind and Hill both had big years and we got into a fantastic start. GUess which two players decided to become absoloute Pumpkins. Rios and Wells. Rios was a 5WAR player in 2009, and became below replacement level. by the way shocking, Rios has a higher career WAR than Vernon Wells.

    A surging Redsox team actually helps our chances, as they wont be walk overs for Orioles/Rays/Yankees Evens out the division even more. Who knows we may have 5 teams tied at 81 wins.

    Actually if Dickey was with another team, and was waived I wouldn't mind AA claiming him. I think thats the sort of thing a smart GM would do. Dickey could improve in the NL or out west. However really need to get rid of Fatty, and bring up Thole to catch Dickey. Look at Dickey's starts when Thole was catching, some of them were borderline average and doable. Get the fat f*** off the team, and see if Thole can Dickey to be at least decent. We know Navarro shouldn't be playing over Smoak anymore. So what is the point of having Navarro on the team. If he cant be traded for an asset at this point, that isn't going to change in a few weeks.
