Thats where everything went wrong in my opinion.
Farrell screwed AA, AA got fearful, and went for the safe choice.
I always felt that the 2006 bluejays were good enough. Compared to the team that the Jays field now, the 2006 Bluejays would be 15-20 games over .500. That team's top 3 starters were Roy Halladay, AJ Burnett and Ted Lilly. Lilly was an effective Left hander than and Burnett was amazing. Combined with a lights out BJ Ryan in the pen, Scott Downs, Justin Spiers, Jason Frasor
All they needed was f***ing minor moves and competent management. I swear Gibby lost us 5-6 games this year by waiting forever to pull Towers and Chacin. It was the most frustrating year, Greg Zaun rode the bench with a .370 OBP and Fat turd Bengie Molina would start against RHP just like Navarro does now. It was the same tom foolery back then. This franchise doesn't learn from its failures. Constantly recycling Players. Constantly Recycling Mangers.
We think they are in it this year, is it because the team is better, or the division is just crap. How long before one of the other team pulls it together while Navarro starts at DH and Colabello starts in LF.
