  1. Most "home run bats" do not translate well in the playoffs. The end up getting shut down. Trying to lead the league in HR's is not a good team building philosophy when we have major holes in starting pitching.
  2. Just say no to 150 million+ for an all home run bat that strikes out 30%+ of the time that won't be able to hit lefties when matched up in high leverage situations in later innings. Also provides negative value defensively at a non-premium defensive position. Would be an awful signing.
  3. AA left because Shapiro is going to rebuild. No Price Obviously. Edwin and Bautista are going to get shopped around. Tulo will be asked if he is comfortable in Toronto with his family, if not they will work out a trade to accommodate him. AA couldn't be a part of a vision that will slash payroll, be less competitive(at least in the coming years) and destroy the team he spent years of sleepless nights building.
  4. Having graded them D- and A respectively I can't really argue with that. I was borderline giving the same grades to those players.
  5. For Martin it isn't a small sample size. He has been atrocious in the postseason his entire career.
  6. Yup. KC's starting pitching, bullpen, defense and situational hitting were a lot more consistent throughout the series. They were the better team.
  7. Ben Revere - D+ Josh Donaldson - C+ Jose Bautista - A- Edwin Encarnacion - C- Troy Tulowitzki - B+ Chris Colabello - B+ Russell Martin - D- Kevin Pillar - B+ Ryan Goins - C+ Justin Smoak - Incomplete Cliff Pennington - Incomplete Dioner Navarro - C- Ezequiel Carrera - Incomplete Dalton Pompey - A (pinch running) David Price - C+ Marcus Stroman - A R.A Dickey - C Marco Estrada - A Aaron Loup - Incomplete Brett Cecil - Incomplete Ryan Tepera - F LaTroy Hawkins - D- Liam Hendrix - A- Mark Lowe - His usage by Gibbons was so odd I can't even give him a grade Aaron Sanchez - B+ Roberto Osuna - B+ John Gibbons - F How do you grade them out?
  8. Starting pitching has been slightly better, better bullpen, WAY better defense, WAY better clutch hitting.
  9. Even with the controversial HR I won't be too upset with the loss. Jays lost to a team that played better in every facet of the game this series.
  10. Can't believe I'm about to say this but I would rather have Navarro catching. Martin has been atrocious this postseason.
  11. Do you have any candidates?
  12. You know he is thinking about it, right?
  13. When Harold Reynolds laughs out loud in the broadcast (like he did yesterday) about Gibbons bullpen management you know it's REALLY bad.
  14. I have never witnessed such incompetence from a manager in the postseason. Beyond comprehension.
  15. All you have to know is that he has been dreadful in 7 of the 8 postseasons he has played.
  16. Royals have a better roster and a better manager. Jays certainly don't deserve to win this series.
  17. If I am Mark Shapiro I don't bring back Gibbons to manage this team.
  18. Gibbons has been atrocious this year and even worse in the playoffs but the roster has been terrible for the most part too. Martin and Price are playoff chokers, Revere dissapeared, Donaldson and Bautista didn't play as well as what they did in the regular season, Tulo was Tulo, Dickey was Dickey. The only players that came to play this postseason was Stroman, Pillar, Goins and Collabello. That isn't a recipe that will get you to the world series.
  19. Your thread is getting worse and worse by the day.
  20. Russell Martin plays like complete dog s*** in the playoffs.
  21. This thread might be the worst in the history of baseball message boards.
  22. Halladay was a big fraud especially in terms of locker room likability with teammates. Personally though I would vote Donaldson > Stroman > Encarnacion > Halladay > Bautista
  23. Or.......Ned Yosts decisions, while still having a "very small" probability of having an effect has been marvelous.
  24. The OP's thread is shockingly bad or as he terms it "egregious".
