  1. Grant, are you sure you're not watching a re-run of Goins pitching against the Indians in July? I thought Cecil coughed it up.
  2. Cecil costing himself millions with this season. He's been an anchor.
  3. Just reading about it now. What did Gibby do?
  4. Loup is probably for today. The high leverage pen arms have all been used in each of the last two nights. Need another fresh arm (and for Stroman to go 7+).
  5. I never really got into the Hip, but I knew every song in those encores. Glad I took the time to watch it. Pretty special thing to happen.
  6. Never been a Hip lover but I'm watching now too. This is really bittersweet.
  7. Huge props to Goins on that. Didn't even break stride. Be proud, dad (Gruber).
  8. Really good ballplayers make outs 65% of their PAs. RISP doesn't change that. Frustrating but true.
  9. There have been several heartbreakers that people have warned as being the beginning of the end. But genuinely good teams don't let that happen. I don't think most Blue Jay fans see the Blue Jays as genuinely good though. I blame the long drought prior to last year. But I'll admit that sometimes 2015 & 16 still seem surreal, even to me.
  10. More celebrities/athletes should push back against Twitter *******s. That good daddy tweet is so cringeworthy and he got deservedly owned.
  11. I somehow don't think these people were too up in arms over bat flip. I kinda like this Trevor Bauer.
  12. I was even going to ask earlier why Saunders and Zeke have flipped outfield roles for some reason. Then again, Zeke probably would have clowned that up too. Another tough pill loss. Lots and lots of those this year, ugh.
  13. Just got in to see the replay. Wow, Saunders is such a brutal defender. Two runs on him tonight.
  14. I'd say the FO is trying to tough it out until September expansion. Smoak is really making it hurt as much as possible though.
  15. Best K + helmet pop to reveal bad haircut ever.
  16. Agreed. The time saved from a pitching change is pretty insignificant too if the league just enforced the timekeeping rules already in place.
  17. It's boring but I think it's just a natural part of the game. Locking in a pitcher is unfair if the opposing manager can still pinch hit. Of course they could outlaw pinch hitting too, but then I'd ask how many rule changes do we need to go through for the sake of cutting off a few minutes of down time? There's changing rules to make the game better (like replay) and changing rules to make the game faster. If we really want to make the game faster without tampering with commercial breaks or actually enforcing the pitch time and batter's box rules, then we have to be prepared to degrade the actual strategy and intrigue of the game.
  18. Sabathia was chucking a good game before his infield started butchering their plays. Could very easily still be 3-2 with 8 Ks through five.
  19. What a win. I had this one written off at the rain delay when I turned it off.
