  1. Tulo comes in to pep talk his fellow ex-pat. Thoughtful guy.
  2. Maybe should have come inside on that last pitch to Escobar?
  3. I understand the caution most people have with Cola, but seriously? Thole? Thole?
  4. When you get Goins and Pillar on to lead off an inning, all the hitting is uphill from there. Why bunt?
  5. Tired of watching Hutch labour through every hitter.
  6. I was making a joke. Relax, sensei. The thing about winning a division and wild card is that both require you to do the exact same thing: win a lot of ball games. And I'd really hope that 25 professional baseball players have the mental fortitude to chase a modest division lead and not simply resign themselves to second place like a bunch of pussies.
  7. Stop at 85 wins. Once you get there, stop. One you hit 82 or 83, slow down so you can stop at 85. Should be good enough.
  8. ^ It's the macro version of "pitching to the score". Not sure where the armchair psychology of guys "getting burned out" if they chase the division is coming from. 5.5 games is hardly insurmountable.
  9. Three hours should be enough time. Obviously you could blow through it all in under an hour, but if you really want to take it in (and there is lots of cool stuff to take in) I'd say go with about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  10. I love hearing about the trade negotiation process.
  11. I'm iffy on this relentless use of Osuna. I think it should be a bit more fluid. Then again, if the guys feel more comfortable and that increases performance what the f*** do I know?
  12. Ripley's is indeed wicked cool. Went last year, lots of fun. Afterwards we hit up Cest What and I got myself pleasantly sauced.
  13. Threatening to intentionally bean a guy is threatening to assault him under the guise of fair play. It should absolutely be a suspendable offense. You see how we're all trying to psychoanalyze Sanchez to decide if his HBP was intentional? A guy publically stating his intent on social media is *telling us what we're trying to speculate*. If a guy is just going to out his intent, you get him for it. It's hard enough to stop headhunters, so you nab the idiots who advertise it. I'd even go so far as to say that the player in question should be prohibited from pitching in any game in which he will be facing the other guy's team.
  14. MLB are just following up on the foundation the umpires laid in the game. The only team who got punished are the Jays, so that's why only members of the Jays are suffering the follow up. Can't really punish the Royals if the guy running the game didn't feel they did anything wrong. You only pay a fine if you get the ticket.
  15. I have no problem with Sanchez being suspended and I don't think anyone here does either. It's that Volquez, Madson, and Yost are getting off scot free.
  16. Sounds more like something an actual cat would do.
  17. I don't mind the jerseys but I really hate that logo.
  18. But who did you steal it from?
  19. The Indians are one of this year's most useless teams. See also: the Detroit Tigers
  20. Richie Shaffer, rookie 1b for the Rays, in his first big league plate appearance: hit by pitch. Hahaha
  21. You mean Stanton, I think. But yeah, this is crazy. Nobody should ever go for the head. That's insanity.
  22. Grass is green, the sky is blue, and a Kansas City Royal pitcher is a f***ing punk. Now for the weather.
