  1. The pisser is that this really wasn't an "8th inning" situation. This was a high leverage situation, which (should be) thought of as a lot different (not that I'm saying you don't see that). Though I'm not 100% sold on either Sanchez or Osuna, I'm okay with giving them clean innings with a lead. Those innings obviously have to go somewhere, and a clean inning is as low leverage a situation as possible. Super context-heavy situations like last night require lot more matchup-playing and skill-set usage. Lowe is a good swing-miss option. Should have been used (which, of course, doesn't guarantee he'd have succeeded, but just that you need to use all your tools as best as possible, else why have them?).
  2. ^ A team .5 games out of first with 45 games to go. Currently sitting on Wild Card 1 regardless. People were pumped when Tulo, Price, and co came aboard while the team was at .500. A 14-2 run later and suddenly it's time to temper expectations.
  3. Terrible news, but it sounds like he'll be able to pull this one out.
  4. Bengie Molina in 2010 for sure. Traded to Texas from the Giants.
  5. I need to buy huge series tickets before the season starts in case of runs like this. Then sell them to bandwagon fans. Also if someone ever mentions "Toronto sports teams suck and finally one is winning", they're probably band wagoners. Also this is fine because there are more productive things to do than breathlessly follow mediocre pro sports teams. I band wagoned hard with the Raptors the last two years. I was such a band wagoner that once something more interesting to me happened (baseball season) I completely stopped watching basketball. I didn't even see a single Raps playoff game. I didn't even know they got bounced until like a day later.
  6. Tilson my new favourite poster.
  7. 9-game winning streak. Roasting the opponent tonight. Sonny Gray tomorrow boo hoo hoo
  8. Just lol'd remembering that one of the outs in the previous inning was a play at the plate.
  9. Exactly. And since they're more likely to cause havoc, the gauntlet has a higher chance of appearing again in the 3rd.
  10. Is a position player pitching really being considered here?
  11. Popeye's chicken would be amazing right now.
  12. The west coast games are starting to wind down at this point.
  13. I would too tbh. But in all seriousness f*** the Indians.
  14. Yanks pile on here, just watch.
  15. How does this team have fans?
  16. Red Sox blew a 4-run lead to get walked off in the 10th by the effing Marlins. It affects little, but Red Sox tears are sweet like tea.
  17. Over the course of the season there will be separation, but I agree about packing the best guys together. Not sure why you wouldn't just hit Travis fifth in this case, though. Even a marginal difference is a difference. Travis has done nothing to earn more PAs than Tulowitzki or Josh Donaldson, period. The cookware do not agree.
  18. Angels getting blanked by the White Sox too. Robertson trying to close a 3-run lead in the ninth. This is some underappreciated separation in the standings, IMO.
