  1. You'll probably end up hating me if anything, but I think you'll like what I'll bring to the table in the long run.
  2. This post made me snort my tea into my sinuses.
  3. Okay guys, who am I sending a PM to?
  4. I'd be more than happy to provide some copy editing services for this blog. Don't take this as a knock. Every writer needs an editor, and I'd be glad to contribute what I can to what looks like some solid content.
  5. No, I used words. Hundred-dollar bills don't spill out of my mouth when I speak unfortunately.
  6. I talked myself into home plate seats for a game in the home finale series.
  7. Ninja AA deserves the credit on this one. The Yan Gomes trade included a secret stipulation about beating the Yankees five times in August two years from the transaction. Nice work.
  8. This would be way better if there were a Lawrie or Arencibia jersey thrown in.
  9. Any time you're ready. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VlHewSq8mPE/UJPJBlQuQCI/AAAAAAAAhNo/eJpXH2WSfmY/s1600/gas-can.jpg
  10. They can't hear you. They're already dead...
  11. Did Sabathia just come out of the game?
  12. ^Preacha tellin the troof and it hurts -DMX
  13. Do you even have to check stats to know that Semien is a better hitter than Sogard? Even by reputation this should be a no brainer. Either he doesn't know the players or, as you say, he doesn't check the data that's probably in a little binder for him right there on the bench. Has he admitted he just flat out ignores information for his gut?
  14. Yeah. Imagine last Friday night's game being played out again. All things being equal, we run into the same situation again. Miller pitching, two outs, two in RISP, lineup turning over... Who would you rather have? Ben Revere or Troy Tulowitzki? Single games can be impacted by giving the most talent the most opportunities, and it will likely pay off throughout the season.
  15. All I'm saying is that to design a lineup for very specific things isn't a sound strategy. Remember that game v. Texas this year when Reyes, JD, and JB all reached base, and then EE hit a grand slam? That's like the sexiest outcome for a lineup design, and I bet we all blew our loads and loadettes over it. Except it's happened once out of 140 tries. This is why I'd rather just brute force the best guys at the top. Reyes didn't deserve more PAs than the three guys immediately behind him (or even Russell Martin), but he got them because that's what he was employed to do. Luckily for Colorado ("lucky"), they don't have to deal with BS workplace politics like this. Since Reyes just fell in their lap, they don't have to justify why he isn't hitting above their own tremendous lead off guy (Blackmon). He still seems to be hitting second though, so that's pretty stupid.
  16. Yeah, that's why I like Joshie hitting second too. But if we're talking about a short term shake up I'd rather have Josh be likeliest to have one more plate appearance than Ben Revere.
  17. But even that's an unlikelihood. I'd rather get Donaldson as close getting another AB as possible. The best way to do that is to hit him first. If he gets 15 or so PAs by the end of the year because of it, that could be like one or two more bombs he'll be able to hit for us. Plus, it's not like the guys behind Josh are scrubs here. Josh can get on and they can drive him in.
  18. I'm not sure if Revere deserves them. My gut says he does not. Don't get me wrong; I like Revere. I wouldn't be opposed to putting him there for a bit if he's swinging well (as long as it's temporary). But, really, if we're still going on the Best Hitters Hit First tactic, why not just move up Joshie for the time being? Donaldson Bautista Edwin Tulo etc
  19. I have no problem moving Tulo off #1 spot if he continues to struggle (or even right now). Not sure Revere deserves those ABs, though. People just want Revere there because that it resembles a more traditional line up and people wuve der baby byankets.
  20. Small positives for Reyes, I guess. But there's no way he's happier on a cushion of real grass in f***ing Colorado than he'd be if he were making a playoff push here on carpet.
  21. The funniest thing about that clip is that the announcer thinks LeVar Burton was in Star Wars.
  22. I didn't say he was? Tulo, Edwin, Donaldson, and Bautista are all better than Carter was. The idea that Carter and Edwin are similar is ludicrous, which is what closetjaysfan was saying.
  23. Carter had the biggest moment in Blue Jays history but the current top 4 hitters are pretty provably better than he was.
  24. God I love the Giants.
  25. No worries, I'm just giving you the gears. Managing baseball every night is probably pretty stressful and Gibby isn't exactly young. I wonder what he even does after games? Probably hits up a steak joint with the other coaching staff.
