    I'm tired of it too, but there's really nothing else to really market. The team has been pretty transparently mediocre except for fan-favourite superstars here and there. It's a pretty bad indictment of the organization.

    Eh. I wouldn't read that much into it I think it's pretty simple: Jake Arrieta is amazing and you're likely to lose any game he starts against you.

    Gallardo is a f***ing houdini act and Texas fans know it. If he gets himself into as much trouble as he typically does the Jays have a really good chance to smash him, regardless of how he beat them earlier in the season.

    So do teams hang banners or flags for being a Wild Card team even if they lose the play-in game? I understand why some might, but honestly... they're celebrating fifth place. You're the fourth place loser.

    I'm using half a vacation day for tomorrow's game. I made it palatable to the boss by "trading" it for the full day off on Tuesday I had no intention of using. f***ing ninja. I'll be missing game 2 though... so maybe not so much ninja.

    I'd rather have Price, Stroman, RA, Estrada if we're using Dickey-Effect as a tactic. The first two give us our best chance to win. Dickey in Game 3 could easily be a winner too, but if not Estrada reaps the benefits of the Dickey-Effect, no?

    No one thinks it will be easy, or even that the Jays have an overwhelming chance at victory. It's that the Blue Jays are the overall stronger team in this matchup in nearly every respect. Think about how nervous you are about sending Price or Stroman against the Rangers. Now think how nervous you'd be sending anyone other than Hamels against the Blue Jays lineup. Of all the pitching staffs out there, it's the Rangers' who are the likeliest to get smoked by Donaldson, Edwin, Jose, and friends.

    I was thinking the same thing. I'd like to see the Astros get bounced early, but that'll mean the Yankees get the Prime Time slot. If the Yankees get bounced I think the Royals will be considered the Prime Time slot. Last year's Cinderella vs. this year's. Maybe Rogers can step up for me and offer TBS and FOX a gajillion dollars to make Toronto's the night games?

    Good chance Toronto isn't considered the prime time series. I'm going to be at goddamned work for the first two games. Thank you. People need to stop thinking about baseball like it's football. A short series is pretty much a crapshoot regardless of who is playing in it. The better team will not always win. It really feels like every team is capable of going the whole way this year. Some are stronger than others, but I wouldn't consider any of the 10 teams involved this year as non-starters like in years past. Very strong crop.

    It would be the most Washington Nationals payback ever. Have an insane perfect game on the second last night, then get no-hit by your main rival's bullpen in the season closer.
