  1. After Martin's huge HR against the Yankees on Wednesday Barry Davis started his next segment with something like, "On a day when great Yankees catcher Yogi Berra passes away, a former Yankee catcher hits a huge home run." Like, f*** off. Yes, let's use a legend's (or anyone's) passing for a s***** segway during a sporting event. It was enough to make him top this list for me. I wasn't at the seat at the time when he was interviewing Geddy yesterday, but I know if I was there I'd probably have to debate asking him about it. I honestly thought it was super s*****. Frankly I think most of the media crew lack a lot of on-the-spot charm that makes watching any sports reporter bearable. I think Zaun is okay. I don't always agree with him, but he's watchable. Campbell I don't like, but he's still somehow endearingly blundering. He's just there for me. Hazel Mae is terrible. Davidi seems to have his stuff together. I like reading his work. Not sure on Nicholson-Smith. I haven't really read much of his work, though. I'm not exactly sure what he brings to the table, but I think I should give him a fair shot. Wilner is sometimes fine to listen to. He's pretty reasonable sometimes, but other times he's just a spin doctor. The rest I either don't read enough or don't care to. Ken and Evanka are enjoyable as post-post-game people. But then again Evanka could mesmerize me reciting Mein Kampf, so.
  2. Donaldson's HR was just awesome. Can't believe that's how the home season closed out. I mean, I believe it, but it's just that perfect. Also, his tag out of Mahtook at third base was just huge. Play of the game if not for you-know-what.
  3. If the division is clinched, I'm okay with it. I understand if people are more reserved about No. 1 seeding being on the line though. That race will likely come down to the last couple of games.
  4. Also, hitting Donaldson second from about May onwards. How many wins can be directly attributed to Donaldson getting one more AB in a game? At least three. Good moves are invisible.
  5. Why is a 34-year-old fighting a 22-year-old? Like, at worst Papelbon should just not give a f*** about what Harper says because he's a goddamned kid. Add to the fact that Pap himself is a newcomer to the club that is only above .450 because of Harper. Also, KC announcers explaining 'soft hands'. "It's not about palmolive soft hands. It's the give. It's about the give. ... Turns that ball into a marshmallow."
  6. As Matt Williams palms a 50 into Paps' hand afterwards.
  7. Really want the line to keep moving here. Want the big bats to have a last hurrah if necessary. Shame about Revere hitting first in the order.
  8. It was probably a chance worth taking. Pennington should make that play too, or at least not f*** it up to lose an extra base. Can't manage for errors, IMO, but I'm getting a bit impatient with Pennington's terrible throws.
  9. He really is. And Pennington needs to get his s*** in order. Come on, man.
  10. Every series Longoria has a sick rob on Bautista. Never fails. They're built for each other.
  11. I knew the Yankees would plink together at least three vs the White Sox. And I knew it would happen just like this too. Two runs might as well be twenty for those scrubs. Jose Abreu and the Laundry.
  12. Yesterday Hendriks was trying to balance on the dugout bannister to sign autographs for the kids above the dugout. He almost slipped and Barry Davis leapt up off the bench to grab him. Gibby, cover these guys in bubble wrap please.
  13. That's generous. I'd say he's full-on Guy Fieri.
  14. PH Martin then if the situation calls for it. Probably an inning or two before he comes back up anyway. All moot though because of the damn DP.
  15. Yeah, I might take the chance on the PR too. Throw Carrera in there.
  16. Yeah but he forgets it was in fact Jesus who Mike Trout completely scandalized last night. Jesus has no power over MVPs.
  17. Love how Romero gets pulled after walking the most punchless hitter in baseball and then points to Jesus after walking off the mound.
  18. Matt Williams seems to be the most routinely lampooned manager, but it really seems as if the Washington FO has enough confidence in him. But for actual reasons why they suck? I don't think they can really hit or get on base efficiently enough. Outside of Bryce Harper of course.
  19. The 94-win Pirates are likely going to have to settle for a Wild Card spot. There's still a chance they win 100 games too. Wow, baseball.
  20. I had a dream ISIS took over Toronto. Then, even worse, later it transitioned to me losing my job. Frankly I'm hoping you're the real oracle here.
  21. This is the second time I've seen you jump down a poster's throat for posting a completely innocuous personal experience about going to a game with a family member. Both times you've gone out of your way to hurl insults for absolutely no good reason. What is your problem?
  22. Starting to think I should just buy tickets to every September home game in 2016. Should be a healthy supplement to my income. With benefits for the post season, it might even be worth splurging on 500-level season tickets early on...
  23. Awesome. Thanks.
