  1. I would really lower my expectations on Springer next season. I mean it'd be amazing if he continues with another career best BABIP and do everything he did but my gut tells me it was an outlier at this point in his career.
  2. At this point, they probably want some comparatives for leverage to negotiate with the Jays since they probably aren't getting real offers for a long term SS deal and I'm sure the Jays already have their hard numbers in place for him which they've had all year to plan for.
  3. I just want to say I'm glad you found us and welcome to the board. Please stick around 🙏
  4. Anyone who has an issue with this deal is just being naive. Couldn't have asked for a better start to the offseason.
  5. The Jays checking in on every player is just the annual routine we hear every year. The only difference this year is that their playoff run likely attracts free agents. As others said, don't read too much into these, there's a reason why most tweets don't make it to mlbtraderumors. Remember it's the norm for agents and even teams to leak some info as part of their own strategy. It's a dog eat dog world.
  6. Blue Jays would be dumb not to check on every mid infielder and their perceived value and other back up options, no different than Bo checking in with all clubs to get his value.
  7. Everyone blames IKF as well and understandably so, but I don't think I've heard anyone mention coach Carlos not making him take a bigger lead when he wasn't being held tight... It's a shared team loss.
  8. Hoffman was just fine in the postseason, more reliable than he was all year, in fact I don't think we could have asked for a better performance from him. He's not the reason we lost the WS. I think some of the blame is just from frustration. That said, having another option next year would be nice, when Hoffman struggles it's scary times. Hopefully Garcia comes back strong next year, would be a solid addition.
  9. Bellinger would be sweet, especially that he plays all outfield spots and can plug into 1B at a dime. However, the inconsistency is just so frustrating year over year, I banked on his projections in the past for my fantasy team and that was torture at times, You can blame injury or whatever but when we get an off year with him, it'll feel as frustrating as Santandar was. That said, sign Bo please.
  10. Not surprising really, lots of suitors are going to knock on his door. Be evil if he signed with another AL East team tho.
  11. Yea no way he's taking a hometown discount. This isn't a Bieber situation and he just saw his bestie get a top tier contract.
  12. Wow... I didn't bother reading it but that's a wild story. Much worse than the rich bribing schools for their kids.
  13. lol, he didn't show up because he knew that was a fake award.
  14. I'd be very much be down for Williams. He seemed to struggle in the closer role for the Yankees, maybe lowers his value a bit?
  15. Man, it's a shame how a select few every year don't realize just how fortunate they are to be in the position they're in and blow their entire future away in poor decisions, time and time again. Whether it's gambling, domestic violence, steroids, sign stealing or what have you. They never learn from other's mistakes, like have they never heard of Pete Rose? That's before there were easy digital trails. Go take your gambling addictions to the tables, you deserve to lose it all if you're that naïve to think someone won't say something.
  16. John is part of the clubhouse chemistry at this point, players dig him, he's passionate about winning and overall has done a really good job. There would be way too much pushback if he was let go (nor should he be). Managers don't get fired when you go from last to first.
  17. If it ain't broken, don't break it. We got a winning formula, with majority coming back. Keep the same approach, high contact team. Bo is essential for our make up.
  18. Hell yea! Thanks Biebs
  19. Hi Atomy boy - we have a full Off Season Thread going on that you can find here:
  20. Bring back Bo, stick him at 2nd and call it a day. Replacing his production for our type of line up isn't as easy as just sort free agents by wRC+ and roll the dice. I want the league's best at getting hits for when it matters most.
  21. The Dodgers won because we simply couldn't get a single damn timely hit or an ounce of luck. I haven't looked at the stats, I'm not ready to look yet, but we left a million runners on base.
  22. I still can't articulate my thoughts after Game 7. I'm just stunned how it all turned out. Disappointed but also so damn proud of the team to play up to their abilities. I think Dodgers heavily underperformed and we simply did our best.
  23. At least we stayed within the Luxury Tax line ($241m)
  24. If it goes to Game 7, I don't think they got anyone left to throw one out. Ladies and Gentleman, for the ceremonial first pitch, Hazel Maze. Kidding aside, maybe Buck could be honoured with it.
  25. I feel ya there, I also stopped playing from an arm injury in my early 20s. I'm sorry to hear about your dad, memories last a lifetime at least, it's these types of moments that bring those back. My dad passed unexpectedly on the operating table in March going in for heart surgery. Still feels fresh. Let's hope we get the W today/tomorrow for them!
