Price is the only rental he's acquired via trade... The only other short term acquisition since taking over was the 1 year remaining on Johnson that didn't pan out from the Marlins package. All of the positional players from this season are still under team control so where are you basing losing all of our farm for one chance in the playoffs? This team can arguably compete for multiple years, the biggest wildcards being EE / JB next season and the FA market for pitching this offseason.

No... firstly Bautista & EE won't be shopped around, they are 10/5 players and can veto any trade. Furthermore, people have to understand this is the result of Rogers selecting a President midseason with the assumption that their team was destined to be another .500 medicore product. Shapiro didn't force AA out... The plan at the time was to obviously blow it up, rebuild, save $ and not extend AA. That all backfired when AA went all ninja on them and totally redeemed himself. Assuming Shapiro is going to blow things up right now, is illogical. That was obviously the intention when he was selected but the guy hasn't even worked a day yet and you're assuming he is is the dumbest President/GM on the planet. No... Rogers is the dumbest ownership on the planet who could have waited any time after the deadline to interview candidates for Beeston's replacement. They never gave AA a final chance to save his season.

AA will be on Tim & Sid @ 5pm. At least he started doing these interviews after Dean Blundell show ended. Edit: I don't think I've heard anything worse than Dean Blundell learning sports on the radio while he's interviewing players.

I think it's fair to say he got better with time and the term ninja kind of refers to trades happening that you don't expect, so I think right or wrong it's a relevant nickname.

Pretty sure because he doesn't want to be the face of GM while Shapiro forces him to make moves (or reject moves) he doesn't agree with. Leave on a high note so he doesn't get held back?

They announced they exercised Dickey's option last night. Whether Shapiro trades him on the other hand might become a different story.

I think all indication prior to Aug. 31st was payroll was going to drop, AA would be fired and the team would be blown up. Shapiro was the right man for that job too, now I can't see Rogers wanting the team gone in fear of losing it's new acquired fan base. AA walking is already stirring the pot a lot.
