  1. Gibbons said he doesnt expect Morrow back till September and he prolly comes back as a reliever according to Shi. Also Lind is hitting off a tee and don't expect anyone to come back before the end of the roadtrip. Need to make a trade!
  2. Funny because the Owner of the facility I liked above said Jack Z is one of the oldest thinking GMs and is very reluctant to do new things.
  3. http://www.drivelinebaseball.com/2012/11/16/npa-velocity-holds-their-true-origins-and-mechanical-problems-that-come-with-them/ Found this interesting. Seems to not like the weighted ball program. Also interesting reading through that page that some teams he calls useless with nutrition in sport. Iv always found it curious why baseball has dragged so far behind other sports in terms of nutrition.
  4. When your 4-9 is: Francisco Rasmus Kawasaki Thole Goins Gose You will not win many games with that lineup, need these guys back soon.
  5. I think hes on vacation so don't expect a response.
  6. While the numbers look good because of the no runs I wouldn't say 0 strikeouts and 8 flyball outs to 3 groundball outs is a good start. Nice to see 0 walks i guess.
  7. Yup lots of money available. If they are really smart they will trade Uhera and Miller (can get a great haul for them) and Lester. Then they can sign a couple high priced free agents and will have tons of prospects to trade for Major league talent.
  8. Hopefully Darvish can shut down the Yankees tonight. Only chance of that awful Rangers team winning.
  9. RAD isn't bad at 12.5 million. The dickey effect is real and makes him worth more than what his numbers suggest. Buehrle on the other hand should be traded. If he finished off the season on a good note his numbers will be a lot better than he is and there won't be a better time to trade him.
  10. Absolutely. But give those rookies a couple years to settle in and establish themselves and they will have a great team. Rookies usually struggle when they get to the majors but by that time their current prospects should be getting close to their prime.
  11. The risk of relying on Francisco to produce is probably higher than Lind getting injured. I am not sure I want to go down that path. If the goal is to save money, trade Buehrle and his 19 million and maybe even Reyes as well if you can find someone else to play SS.
  12. Way to big a drop in talent to save 4 million. They both can't hit lefties, but Lind hits Righties wayyyy better. Remember when Francisco was striking out like 40% of the time for a month and a half stretch.
  13. Well I don't think Barreto has to be added to the 40 man for a couples years, no? The Red Sox could become a very good team in a couple of years, great farm system and collection of young talent. If they can get even more young talent for Lester, they will be pretty scary in 2016.
  14. If I was the Red Sox I would sign Rasmus in Free agency for a 1 year deal opposed to trading for Kemp and paying him a ton of money.
  15. I was thinking of Pompey for Lester straight up but I don't know if I part with that just for a rental. I think the Red Sox would potentially pull the trigger on that.
  16. I wonder if the Red Sox would do a Nolin, Barreto deal for Lester? Its a lot to give up for a rental but the Blue Jays could really use Lester and im trying to think of a deal the Red Sox would actually accept.
  17. Jim Bowden is an idiot. Why would the Red Sox trade for Kemp even if they get him for 40 million? Lester could bring you back a good package for a rental and since you aren't winning this year you may as well take a flyer on a guy like Rasmus instead of paying a ton of money for Kemp who is declining.
  18. I wonder if the Blue Jays were to make a package for Lester what it would be? Red Sox won't lose him for nothing because they will at least get a draft pick back. If it was straight up Lester for Kemp even with a ton of money coming back that would be a terrible deal for the Red Sox. Kemp might be worth like 35 million at the most.
  19. Could not have posted in Around Baseball? Dirk is wrong as he implies that Doc was a free agent at the end of 09, not 2010. Otherwise a decent article
  20. Also, Genetics. If an average Canadian white person lived in Cuba there whole life I really doubt they would be any bigger compared to Canada.
  21. Sorry, I meant more in that he will have to learn with Reyes on how they play the DP. Also that was a pretty long time ago so it could take time to get used to. Im not sure he will be worth the price it will cost as he isn't a very good bat.
  22. I was more talking about the Randy Johnson comp and the "Fluid Delivery". Im sure the delivery still is a huge work in progress with his size. He is definetly a guy to keep an eye on for sure and we can hope that he can make strides like what Daniel Norris did.
  23. Also he would have to move to 2nd base and that could be risky because 1) you don't know how he will take that in a contract year 2) He will have to learn on the fly playing 2nd since he hasn't played there
  24. Thats just some random kid's opinion. Read his other tweets and he compares him to Randy Johnson and also wants Buck to MC his wedding. Take this with a grain of salt
  25. Seems like the tool grades weren't too well thought of. Norris's slider is a 50 (worst of the 4 pitches)and isn't that his best secondary pitch and a true plus pitch according to scouts? And his changeup is a 60 grade with that pitch being his worst secondary offering. I know it is supposed to be a future grade but I have a hard time believing that his changeup will ever become a full grade higher than his slider.
