  1. There is a rumour around Ottawa that the team is already sold. Franchise needs an overhaul from the top down.
  2. To be fair they already had no ticket revenue lol.
  3. Blue Jays on Kinsler's no trade list.
  4. Wonder if Travis won't be ready to start the season. That would explain interest in Nunez as the utlilty player and Diaz as the fulltime 2nd baseman.
  5. I'd trade Alford and Pearson in a second for Yellich plus Chen.
  6. Zero chance. Honestly thats insulting. Yelich is worth something close to $100M in surplus and Chen has like $55M left and isn't worth nothing. Pompey's value is basically a PTBNL right now and SRF might be worth $10-15M. You can't trade for one of the best contracts in the league and give up garbage.
  7. Fans won't always support a winning team anyway, there's always peaks and valleys in interest. I don't really see how a team winning around 80 games this year makes future revenues grow. Toronto is a pretty big bandwagon city so as soon as the team becomes good/exciting fans will be buying tickets.
  8. Lol its ownership that's dictating them trying to be competitive this year not the FO. Funny how people said Rogers is a good owner because they sit back but really they are the ones stopping the FO from rebuilding. I wonder if the rumour of them selling is why they want to be as competitive as possible this year. Although purchasing a MLB franchise is a long term investment it probably doesn't look good if they trade away all their star players before selling the team.
  9. In 2016 when the Yankees would play in Toronto Sabathia would stay at a different hotel then the rest of the team to be away from all of the partying lol.
  10. Problem with Morales is he hits it hard but into the ground half the time. And with his speed that's useless. If he could turn 10% more of his batted balls into fly balls he's likely a 120-130wRC+ hitter.
  11. Casey was terrible this game. Not having JV in on that FT attempt was just lazy incompetence. His rotations this game were also pretty bad.
  12. I think he likes $ more.
  13. Funny how everyone was freaking out about Lowry after the first 5 games. He's as good as he's always been if not better. Hopefully it can carry over to the playoffs.
  14. Why are you even ranking 50 players lol. Much rather have a 20 player list with actual reports. Literally looks like he ranked the top 8 then threw all the other names into a hat.
  15. Well you could justify it if the trade offers aren't worth it but given how the Cardinals really seem to want him it doesn't make much sense.
  16. Wonder if the upcoming $200M-$400M Rogers Centre renovation has a lot to do with them selling as well. They know they aren't going to get any public money for it so might want to leave the new owner on the hook for it.
  17. I rather the Yankees get Stanton for $300M than Ohtani for nothing.
  18. I'd willing to bet Trout becomes Trout no matter what Org. he was in. He's just one of those special talents.
  19. Kind of funny because player development wise the Angels have been terrible. And their Owner is known to meddle.
  20. So would their terrible contracts in 3 years.
  21. If you bet money on where he'd go could have made a pretty good return. Angels were one of the last places he was likely going to go of the 7 teams. Him and Trout on the same team is cool.
  22. Its a top 5 Market though so the "top 10 payroll" can be a little misleading. The biggest fault I put on Rogers is hiring s***** executive which in turn didn't help the bottom line. The value of Mark Shapiro over Paul Beeston and Paul Godfrey is in the 10s of Millions of dollars. By having s***** presidents the Blue Jays didn't make much money so Rogers didn't have that much $ to invest back into the product. Lets be honest as fans we are lucky Rogers hired Shapiro because they almost f***ed up the org. for a decade if they would have hired Duquette who was their first choice.
  23. Worst case: New owner comes in doesn't get along with Shapiro and fires him hiring some new guy who's terrible.
  24. I remember someone in the media saying how MLB wouldn't allow a corporate owner again so that probably squashes MLSE as a potential buyer.
