    Osuna looks like he's gained some weight this offseason (not in the good way).

    If the Jays want to compete this year they're going to have to keep him though. Without him the bullpen is easily bottom 10 if not worse. But if they sell at the deadline he should be one of the first ones they move.

    Yeah JDM is actually a really good player, one of the best hitters in MLB. But the problem is his agent is Scott Boras so he's going to get a ton of money at which point the contract is going be too much.

    Ben Badler said in his chat he'd personally have Bo in his top 5 prospects league wide. And the reason he had Gurriel so high was because he gives Cubans a pass in their first years given the culture shock plus he was battling injuries which seems fair.

    I kind of wish they would have payed an extra 10-15 and made it that much better. The upgrade to the facilities will make it a top 10 ST site but still not in the top 3.

    The Jays are paying like $15Million for the spring training while sticking it to Florida taxpayers, hardly a lot of money for an MLB franchise.

    Agree with everything except the complaint about the arena being far out in the middle of nowhere. Its 28 KM and all highway driving. Takes you as long to get from downtown to the rink as it does to go 5 blocks in Toronto. Lots of Ottawa people just like to complain for the sake of it. You can tell there is no money spent on the in game experience or Front Office staff. Ottawa's hockey Ops dept. is literally 4 guys and some interns. It was so bad to a point that staff would have to bring their own recycling bins down to the compacter because they had no janitorial staff. The physical building is a disaster too since there is no $ being put in it. If something breaks it goes unfixed and just sits there. I firmly believe if team sells you'll have a whole bunch more fans just because Melnyk is gone, he's that bad.

    Those are also the reasons why the Jays should be hesitant on signing Cain long term. He's projected to be a 107wRC+ hitter and he will be 32. Not to mention he's had leg injuries in the past.

    Perhaps the Marlins are just stupid or really valued those prospects higher. Not even just the Blue Jays but you would think a whole bunch of other teams would give up more to land him. Its not as simple as well this player is rated as X on BA's top 100 Prospects so he should be worth more.

    Because he's a truly elite player. Everyone would sign him for 5/125 but he's going to get more than that.

    Yup. Wonder if Alfie will be the president in a situation similar to the Leafs and Shanahan. Hopefully if it happens he's closer to a Yzerman than a Jeter.

    I just meant in terms perhaps Travis isn't going to be healthy for a long time so they've given up hope that he'll even play. I know what you are saying and agree. I think fans expect Travis will be ready to start the season and that he will get injured again at some point but perhaps he's still injured so that is why they looking to spend the $15-$20 million to bring in a guy like Nunez on a 2 year deal.
