  1. I think they would sign him but it all depends on the price. Giving him $125 million let alone $150 million at this point just doesn't make sense financially when you consider the situation. Once the games start I think the talk will die down a lot. Jose is the type of guy who the media are scared to ask certain questions. They know as well as anyone if they continue to ask him about the contract situation he will make their jobs a lot more difficult.
  2. Well they went to complete dogshit then. I remember the NCAA video games used to be good and even NHL games.
  3. I find EA has really gone downhill.
  4. Remember how bad MLB2K series was. Baseball has so much detail that I think its the most difficult video game to produce.
  5. I think you went s little overboard. The jays would have their own evaluations of players and their own WAR type stat that would include a bunch of factors like performance, medical, makeup etc.. So it's not like the jays just look at fangraphs WAR and decide to sign players.
  6. Another thing they added was being able to bring up a player's career statistics including all the saber stats. I found it extremely annoying this wasn't in the game previously. Franchise mode in general looks vastly improved which I am happy about. Hopefully they increase inflation for contracts as that bugged me in the past. The FA system looks good though.
  7. Not sure how many gamers we have out there but mlb the show 16 looks pretty good. Here is a video of some gameplay Some interesting features: -The game partnered with Inside Edge and players have new ratings every day so based on how a player is playing at that given moment is ratings will change. -Exit velocity off the bat -Speed rating of baserunners visible when you are fielding -New fielding in RTTS - 20-80 scouting scale -20 new umpires with their own K-zones (not sure if this will be fun or annoying but sounds kinda cool) -New dynasty cards. You could get a prime David Ortiz for example. Since we are Blue Jays fans some Toronto features - RC has the all dirt infield and you can play with the roof closed Go to the video at 27 Min to see gameplay at RC. - Edwin has the parrot celebration and JD has the 6 throw up. Probably a whole bunch of others I didn't get to. Definitely excited for the game, considering the last few years have felt like the exact same game. A build your own ballpark feature is the one feature I wish they would put in.
  8. Nice Tulo article today http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/tulowitzki-finally-feeling-tranquil-as-member-of-blue-jays/ lol after reading a good positive article about one of the best Blue Jays I thought hmm the comments can't be bad on everything. Man was I ever wrong, one of the first comments I saw: Syngut Rank 85 Top 5 Jays: 1. Tulo 2. Donaldson 3. Stroman 4. Edwin 5. Goins And then there's this: Bucky Bama Rank 301 Can't help but to get a chuckle out of the photo up top with the sponsored name of the Blue Jays training field. It's called the "Florida Auto Exchange Stadium"? Really? So here is a MLB team, owned by a huge communications company, that can't throw a few bucks into naming rights like "Rogers Roam Like Home Field", into their Spring Training facility? 3 hours ago 333 Likes
  9. Its not as simple as subtracting his WAR from how many games they won the division by. Also you can't replicated the bat flip moment happening with a different player.
  10. Yeah its nice but still can be better. Even with how he's improved I still don't think he's a max player. Be interesting how the offseason plays out.
  11. Well I'm glad they kept him. The Jays wouldn't have made the ALCS let alone the playoffs without Bautista last year and there is no memory of the bat flip. That moment will be remembered for decades no matter how the Bautista situation plays out.
  12. Really like the progress of DD and Joseph's 3 ball.
  13. Yeah like what if that truly is the number it would take for him to forego FA even if he knows he might not get that number. I don't think Westhead made it up, he knows as a journalist the consequences of making up a story. He cited 2 sources and as we've seen over the last couple of days other journalists have confirmed with other sources. The likeliest scenario is someone at Rogers leaked the number to him to take the blame away from Rogers.
  14. Yeah he certainly has an arrogance but I think thats what help makes him great as well. A lot of other superstars are the same way. Bonds, Arod and Harper are all like that, even JD has a certain way about him. As a fan I don't have a problem with it.
  15. To be fair Sanchez did say mechanically he's the best he's ever been. Correcting muscle imbalances goes a long way to stabilizing everything.
  16. KAT is so good. Looks like a top 15 player right now, scary.
  17. Its great that Sanchez is stronger than ever and durable but its going to come down to command. Commanding the fastball will be the biggest key to his success.
  18. Just read some of the replies to his tweets and even Twitter in general.
  19. I'd be interested to see how he would have developed with the new regime in Toronto. The Rockies are one of the worst teams in MLB at pitcher development so there's a good chance Hoffman doesn't achieve his true potential in Colorado.
  20. Wow this is horrible officiating. Isn't Stafford one of the most hated refs?
  21. I don't get why people are so mad at Jose. He can ask for whatever he wants, its his right... If he thinks he's worth x amount of money and you don't want to sign him, thats fine let him go to FA. For all we know he just really wants to experience FA so that is why he is asking for such a high number.
  22. Luis Scola on KT is working out exactly as it did last time...
  23. There's a nice quote about tulo from pillar today. Basically said he is one the hardest workers on the team and he is one of those guys that wants to elite for a long time. Even though he has money and all that he is always trying to be better and helps the young guys try to be better as well. In the world of analytics and numbers today I think some of that gets lost on what a player's value can be.
