  1. Curious what the other pieces would be. I think we'd all agree Saunders is a better player than Bruce
  2. I think I read Saunders and a prospect would be going back for Bruce in a trade so it probably has nothing to do with Bautista.
  3. Hmm, maybe Saunders isn't as healthy as everyone would have hoped. Have to think the Reds pick up a significant portion of his salary.
  4. If the team is below .500 at the deadline there is a good chance Jose and Edwin have gotten hurt/ aren't productive. A team this talented isn't just going to be terrible.
  5. So when does Rogers start a GoFundMe for Bautista's next contract?
  6. Good on Jose. At least he isn't blind to Rogers not spending what they should.
  7. The Bautista and EE extensions were worth more than the value given up in the Marlins trade. If you were to combine all of AA's moves they would grade out as a plus.
  8. Every team would love to keep all the trades that worked out and get a do-over on the ones that didn't... Doesn't exactly work like that. Also can we stop with the Yan Gomes deal. Thats like Pirates fans complaining about the Jose Bautista trade.
  9. Reversing the Tulo and Donaldson trades aren't making the Jays a better team this year or for the next 3 years. Have to remember if the Jays don't make the playoffs last year payroll is probably lower than $120 million.
  10. My guess is it is more than 5/100 perhaps even more than $125 milion. In the video he kind of took a slight jab at ownership unless I misinterpreted saying he didn't agree with the budget and how the team is set up financially.
  11. I don't fault Bautista for his honestly and in his mind he is probably saying all of this now so he doesn't have to talk about it the rest of the season, but I'm sure the Jays FO isn't thrilled. Its fine for him to demand what he believes he is worth but perhaps he shouldn't have said it publicly.
  12. He also stole Josh Donaldson and that Martin contract so far looks really good.
  13. Lol this is stupid if this is in reference to Bautista. AA signed him for 6 years and it couldn't have worked out any better.
  14. Over/Under 100 Million for what the number he told them was?
  15. I could see JB getting 100 Million but I don't see Edwin getting much. His market is really limited to just a few teams.
  16. I'd much rather sign Bautista even if it costs 4/85 compared to Edwin at 3/60. I think Bautista ages better than those comps.
  17. You can't really improve your speed and range at Cola's age. At this point he is what he is.
  18. Maybe a loss of bat speed?
  19. His skillset is not suited for LF at all, no matter how much work he puts in I don't think he will ever be replacement level defensively in the OF. I'd rather he just work on improving defensively at 1st base, where he actually will play a lot this season.
  20. Yeah that article was weird. I have to think Hutch has a pretty good shot at the 5th starter's job, considering how highly the Jays staff speaks of him. Worst part of that article was mentioning Colabello getting reps in the LF. There is zero way after the gongshow last season Cola plays LF for this team again on a regular basis.
  21. They are extremely cheap compared to other contenders around the league as well.
  22. You just have to pick a seating area where there are available seats. A lot of the marquee games don't have any field infield pairs available so that is why you probably don't see the game. Pick field level bases and all the games are available pretty much. This actually helps scalpers in a way. Most scalplers have season tickets so they already got locked in on the price. Now they can sell their tickets for "below face value" so people aren't complaining about it breaking the law and all that ********.
  23. So apparently Dickey had a torn Meniscus last year??
  24. Home opener sold out before dynamic pricing came into effect. My guess is the pricing is capped around 30-40% of the original face value unless there is a huge spike a week before the gameday. There is still easy way to get around the single game pricing anyways. Just buy a flexpack and you can get the original ticket pricing across multiple games.
