Got the win and the pen will be well rested so Hendricks, Lowe, Sanchez and Osuna will all be fresh for game 5. Can't really complain too much about that. So what if Price isn't available. He'll be ready for game 2 to start on normal rest if they advance.
Price is garbage in the post season. 0-6 in starts. Today was his first actual win.
Hopefully getting the W might snap him out of this bs and that he can right the ship, especially if the Jays advance. They will need him to get a win or two in the ALCS if they advance so they can try to get to the world series.
The jays were starting to get to Gallardo in game one, hence the early yank by the Rangers. Hamels was better in game 2. That's the guy I would start if I was Bannister. Plus you have Gallardo in the pen ready if Hamels blows chunks.
Game 5 doesn't matter until the W is in the column for the Jays today.
Using Price sucks, but I'd rather have him in there and a game on Wednesday than risk not having a game on Wednesday.
Stroman should be good for 6-7 innings if he pitches.
The thing is that with the Jays facing two junk pitchers in the next two games, there is a chance if the Bats settle down and get back to what they were doing successfully the past 3 months, then they could very well find themselves back in Skydome on Wednesday.
If not, that would suck.
Are you kidding? That's all anyone in Calgary can talk about. I had many early games the last two months spoiled because of people talking about it. Unless you are completely tuned out of technology, you're going to get spoilers from someone.
I'd like them to keep Price, acquire a decent 3/4 starter or keep Estrada, keep Dickey, find BP arm to replace Hawkins, and retain everyone in the pen. Stretch Osuna out to be a starter and have Cecil/Lowe close instead.
