Glad to see that the Jays once again are going to be doing nothing but half measures and are going with a generally mediocre approach to the offseason. Woohoo, JA Happ, that will make your team a contender. That and Chavez being the only two acquisitions, and likely the only two acquisitions of note is beyond pathetic after how much revenue was generated from July on.
I would not have paid the Price on David, but the fact they came out and said that they aren't targeting anyone of merit is frustrating. This team has a short window, perhaps as little as one more season. Wouldn't want to actually try and win. Might cost you 15 extra million dollars. Never mind that you'd get that back 5-10 fold over the season.
Stingy cheap ass owners that will only do things to a point and no further. Yes, they have a top 10 payroll, but for how much revenue they have, they can easily afford to be top 5 considering they have an entire country supporting them. They aren't Tampa or Oakland where they literally have zero dollars to play with. Rogers is rolling in cash.
If/when the Jays struggle this season, which is likely if Estrada, Happ and Chavez regress from career seasons, then it will get ugly.
