  1. Man, if the Jays can trade Dickey for a swing man and then put Chavez in the rotation, I'd be down for that right now. He looks like straight up ass, and we have to watch Thole because of him. I know, 200 IP, league average performance, reasonable contract, etc, but man he's frustrating to watch.
  2. Considering the amount of prospects traded, I'd say the Jays. You can't trade that many prospects in 3 years and have one playoff appearance for it. At least the other teams just overpaid free agents for the most part.
  3. Yes, when I said aim, I was clearly talking to the players who read this forum religiously. I expected them to settle for the Wild Card so I figured if I told them to aim for the division, they might step their games up. Let's see if my pep talk works.
  4. I mean, I'd rather the Jays win a WC spot than miss the playoffs entirely while finishing around .500, but a long ass season followed by one extra game just seems so heart wrenching for the team that loses. Aim for the division, please. Although, a one game WC against the Rangers would be must see TV if it came to that.
  5. Tepera will let 2 runners on, and then Gibbons will bring in Osuna. Just in case. Pad this lead, guys.
  6. Gibby's tendency to leave SP's in too long so that a reliever can come in with runners on base is not the high percentage play. No wonder the pen looks so bad.
  7. Yes, bring in Grilli in with runners on base, rather than a fresh inning.
  8. Sanchez hadn't thrown 100 pitches yet so of course you keep him in. /Stupid Old School Managing Logic.
  9. Can't believe Morales makes $2m for sitting on his ass if the Jays really are strapped for cash. Even when healthy I probably would have waited for Loup and saved the $2m for something better.
  10. Yep. If the stars were all playing like stars, the Jays would be in a much better spot right now. Maybe that will happen as the season goes on, but that's the main reason for the slow start.
  11. Good utility IF. Let's not get carried away. The Jays should find a taker for Tulo any chance they get, but Barney is not the answer at short or 2B. As a bench player? Ideal.
  12. Pretty much a "free" shot in the dark. It's not like he's being blocked by better performing options (and if I never see Tepera in the big leagues again I'll be happy).
  13. Pete Walker ain't having any of that strike out ********. Pitch to contact or die.
  14. Damn, took a nap, and then woke up to see the score. Huge win.
  15. Chavez as a SP is solid. As a reliever he is s***.
  16. I don't understand why Stroman even started the 6th. Pitch count my ass, your starter is getting his ass handed to him with hard contact. Make the freakin change. Gibbons and his old school bull s*** really need to go away.
  17. Don't take him out yet, Gibbons. He hasn't reached 100 pitches yet.
  18. All dem grounders and no K's. Stro turning into Henderson Alvarez.
  19. Goins better not play a single game over Barney at this point.
  20. Never thought at any point in 2016 that I might prefer Sanchez to Stroman, but at least Sanchez looks like he's trying to get some K's. Stro is his own worst enemy at this point.
  21. What a signing Barney was. He won't keep hitting like this obviously, but he's exactly the type of role player good teams have.
  22. Shields can opt out after 2016 (and the SP market in free agency sucks this winter so there's a chance he will). Even if he doesn't opt out, he's a much shorter contract and likely far more tradable. Plus, Preller wasn't as derpy this past winter as he was two winters ago. I honestly can't think of one team who'd trade assets and take back Tulo at 4/80 for his age 32-35 seasons. We'll have to find the equivalent of Reyes and take that contract back, most likely. A part II of a Vernon Wells trade would be great, though.
  23. I mentioned Kemp as a comparable bad contract. I don't want that to happen, nor do I expect Shapkins to even consider it. My point was, Tulo has an awful contract and has little to no value. I don't care how much bigger MLB contracts get, a SS in his 30's who is injury prone and already declining is not valuable. The Jays would need a miracle (or a stupid GM) to get rid of that contract without taking back an equally bad one and/or getting close to Hoffman/Castro back.
  24. I wonder how close we are to a Tulo for Matt Kemp trade. Seriously, as bad as that sounds, that's the only contract I could see another team willing to trade in order to take Tulo's deal. Horrible.
  25. I'm a believer. Sanchez proving me wrong and I love it.
