    Having expectations that exceeded Drury and McKinney was not unreasonable. But yes, Giles/Stroman are much greater assets so the return should be better. Hopefully.

    Normally he's in the 3rd inning when he reaches 89 pitches. Getting through six with that pitch count is amazing. Let him leave on a high note.

    The issue is, the longer they wait to promote Bo, the less sense it makes to call him up. Like why have him up for Aug/Sept in a 100 loss season when waiting until April can add a year of control? They made the right call with Biggio, they called him up early enough where he'll get a fairly large MLB sample this year, but time is ticking with Bichette. Trade Galvis tomorrow. Speed it up.

    Yeah we all knew this was possible if not inevitable (re: Kawhi). The options were either keep DeRozan, lose in the 2nd round, and contemplate blowing it up, or make the trade, win a title, and lose Kawhi after a year. I'll take the latter any day of the week. But I won't lie, I hope Kawhi doesn't win with the Clippers. I think he will, they are very deep, but I can be appreciative and salty at the same time.

    Richard is the right guy for a tanking team. He sucks but can eat up 5-6 innings.

    Groshans if he stays healthy and on the path he’s started on might creep up the next year or so as well. The drafting/international signings under Shatkins have been excellent. Well, Warmoth aside, but I have faith that he will be traded for a vetrin someday.

    Reminder not to trade for pitching prospects, unless they are the add ons.

    LaCava was the (interim) GM when Hendriks was traded. So it was that weird period when Shapiro just took over but didn't pick his GM yet. I saw the logic in the deal to acquire Chavez. No one knew Sanchez was going to be so good, and no one should have expected that amount of good health to the rotation. In a normal year Chavez would have started 15 games as a swing man. That year was not normal. We stayed really, really healthy. Still a bad trade, but for a team with a one year window, I saw some logic behind it.

    Seriously, if Giles is healthy and dominating like this, then we should get a huge haul for him. Well, huge by today's standards (meaning a legit top 100 prospect and some intriguing lottery tickets). He's not only great now but has an extra year of control after this one. We need to get a great return here.

    He’s actually been pretty careful using Giles all season. I wonder why he suddenly changed. Things were looking too positive. Montoyo around to add unnecessary stress with our best trade asset.

    Man what a stupid reckless appearance here by Giles. It was a tie game (so no save opp) and Giles had pitched 2 days in a row, including in a blowout for some reason. Trade his ass this weekend before he gets hurt. 2018 is only a year ago. The scars of waiting too long to pull the trigger are still visible.

    He was off on Sunday. Now off Thursday. That’s excessive even for load management. Something is either not right or Montoyo thinks he’s managing Vlad Sr.

    All I want is for Atkins to sell high. Last year he traded a one legged JD with 4 weeks of control left, Osuna with a DV cloud over him, and Happ when he had a 7.41 ERA in his last 4 starts. That's why I am fine with Stro missing a start and the ASG if he has to. Better than coming back too soon and hurting his performance or himself further. Giles and Stroman are definitely the two biggest trade assets Atkins has ever dealt with. He has to do well here.

    Yeah for whatever reason the Jays like Drury. He has 3 years of control left and an option remaining. I think he'll be here next year as a utility player. McKinney on the other hand is hanging on by a damn thread. No reason he should be on the 40 man for much longer.

    Yeah while I'd be scared at the thought of trading Stroman for all pitching prospects, a package of Garcia/Contreras/Gil is probably fair. Not sure Cashman would trade all of that, he's usually pretty stingy trading prospects, but he knows the Yankees have a window right now and the Astros want Stro too, so maybe he'll bend a bit. As long as it's not Clint Frazier coming back, I'm good.

    I think it's the opposite. They both suck, but of the two, Drury is the one that wouldn't surprise me if he turned into something. McKinney does nothing well. He literally has no average or better tool. He's bad at everything.

    If the Yankees get Stroman, then we are getting Frazier as the main piece. No thank you. Trade with any other team. Lots of teams in contention, especially in the NL.

    Well at this point I think it's clear he was the old man that Tampa did not want to fire and not someone who actually believes in their practices.

    There isn't much Buntoyo can do about the pitch counts since it takes Thornton 30 pitches to get past 3 batters, but damn the high pitch counts in low innings seem like a really bad combination.

    Thornton threw like 80 pitches in two innings in his last start didn’t he? He needs the AS break.
