  1. The Guardians are either getting WC3 or their division while the Jays saved them $38M in 2026 salary with the Gimenez, Straw, and Bieber trades. They eating good.
  2. If Anthony Rendon had 7 years left on his contract today, I’d trade Vlad for him.
  3. Vlad is going to end up being the most hated Jay of all time at this rate.
  4. Must win game today with Spaghetti throwing BP tomorrow.
  5. I'm glad they started Sanchez at DH this week and kept Keys on the bench.....only to DFA Sanchez a few days later.
  6. A team that uses him as a platoon DH next season will probably get good value.
  7. Jays would have been in a playoff position, and Max Scherzer would have had normal blood pressure, if this was done a month ago.
  8. Vlad probably isn’t injured but that November 2026 tweet from Keegan Matheson reporting that Vlad was playing though (insert injury) since May is definitely in his drafts.
  9. The lack of Keys plate appearances when the team can't hit a HR by accident is baffling to me. Realistically, does Keys have a chance in hell of still being in this org a few months from now (or whenever the lockout is over)? I'd put the odds of that at less than 50% unless he learns how to play LF, and even then I would think getting JS to bench Lukes (assuming Barger in RF) in that scenario would be pretty damn hard. JS is giving Bateman the type of run that I don't recall him ever giving to another young player in his entire time here (when the team was actually competitive). Unfortunately any 1B prospect the Jays stumble across over the next decade will be obsolete because of Ed Rogers so that plays a part as well.
  10. No change in the standings. Jays caught a huge break. Dropping 3 of last 4 to KC and the A's when your playoff lives are on the line is embarrassing, but thankfully the WC race is 4 bad teams trying to see which team is least worst. Jays still have a shot. They just have to suck a little bit less than the other teams.
  11. M's up 3-1 in the 7th. Have to hope that lead holds and the Guardians lose. The Jays went 8-7 this season against the Rockies, Royals, and A's. Kinda glad the schedule gets a bit tougher now. At least losing to competent teams, even if under .500, is less embarrassing.
  12. Varland pitched Monday, so giving him 2 days off followed by an off day seems very reasonable given how much he's pitched this season. I also don't think he's a risk for losing confidence. Maybe JS gets a bonus if at least 4 of his relievers are top 10 in appearances.
  13. Why is Varland pitching the 8th inning of a game they are down 2-0? I know JS gets off on using as many pitchers as possible, but what's the point of this?
  14. Jays got a bunch of LHB on the bench, but JS lets Straw bat (because what I said above about JS and Clement also applies to JS and Straw), and then just as the broadcaster says "time for Vladdy to do something", he hits a 76 mph double play to the pitcher. Man this season sucks.
  15. I don't get it either. No urgency for this game at all. You're not getting quality length out of Lorenzen or Spaghetti barring a miracle. If they won the Cease game then maybe you could live dangerously today but they can't afford a loss here. JS deserves whatever outcome that comes out of this (probably not a good one).
  16. Rested pen and a day off tomorrow. Not sure this is the game to try to get length from Lorenzen, but hopefully this works.
  17. I’m not exaggerating when I say JS would rather take a knife to the throat than bench Clement. Ok, maybe slight exaggeration, but just barely. No chance Clement is anything but the starting 2B for the rest of the season (unfortunately).
  18. They clearly acquired Spaghetti as a project for 2027 but had to thrust him into this role due to having no other options. They literally have no one else unless they intentionally do two bullpen games every 5 days, which doesn't seem optimal, or willingly start Lorenzen (might actually be better than Spaghetti at this point). They have to pray someone (in this case Spaghetti) can get through 4-5 innings every 5 days and then do a bullpen game the other time (or use any off days to skip it).
  19. Vladimir Tapia Jr. A single is better than an out.
  20. Clement has been awful at 2B, and Okamoto to me hasn't looked all that good at 3B either (competent, maybe, but that's as high as I'd go). Between that and the slugs they've been using in the OF, it's no wonder the team defense has regressed.
  21. Yeah they don't really have a choice in LF since Sanchez is terrible and Keys has no experience there, but at DH, they might want to put the dude with a 170 wRC+ in AAA at age 23 when the alternative is a guy they are going to non-tender at the end of the year.
  22. Putting Sanchez at DH instead of Keys is nonsense.
  23. The Guardians took 3/4 from a bad Tigers team when they should have lost all 4. These are the types of games the Jays need to win. They put themselves in this position to have to go on a crazy run to end the season. Losing games like this should not happen.
  24. Yeah I'm not staying up for this s***. Hopefully i wake up to a win, but that play alone was enough to tap out at 10:30 pm.
