  1. Soriano looked like Halladay through six and then fell apart but this one’s on the offense (as usual in 2026).
  2. Getting Melton out of the game early and then not taking advantage really stinks. Now Soriano in trouble with no margin for error.
  3. Time to score some runs. Soriano has been incredible but game is way too close.
  4. Surprised Kirk didn’t challenge that ball 4, it looked pretty close.
  5. 4-0 White Sox.
  6. Only 2 runs so far but getting Melton out of this game so early is huge. Gotta take advantage of their bullpen (which the Guardians did last week).
  7. Tigers bullpen stinks so almost 30 pitches in the 1st for Melton is an added bonus.
  8. Yeah, Atkins is usually very good to great with MLB transactions (trade/signings). He has some stinkers in there like everyone else, but that's clearly his strength. I just don't know how sustainable it is to have everything have to be a trade or FA signing when a need arises. My point, before Brownie lost his mind, was that I actually think the Soriano trade was good, I just wish the Jays didn't have to keep making those types of trades. More Yesavage's (and Miles') would be great
  9. Lol, based on what. exactly? Because I mentioned a lack of player development while otherwise cheering for the team during every other thread? I mean this sincerely as someone who, unfortunately, has read a lot of your posts. You need help, brother. Lots of it. Bipolar posting style (on a consistent basis) and taking a message board this seriously is not good, and the fact that Spanky is the only one cheerleading you is probably something you need to consider as a sign for help. In between telling us how much the team sucks and how much hitting coaches don't matter, please seek therapy.
  10. It’s crazy that none of these teams, including two division winners, actually resemble playoff teams. The AL really is trash. The gift and the curse of expanded post season.
  11. Or you can develop them yourself, but that doesn't happen here.
  12. I understood the logic behind the trade, and Nimmala may or may not pan out, but wish the Jays were able to get Soriano without giving him up. 20 year old with power who can stick at SS and who is above average offensively in AA already. The Jays need some young high upside position players to start filtering up rather than being used as trade chips.
  13. If you're a reliever who can't handle back to back days with JS as your manager, then you're F'd. Like half the Jays pen is in the top 10 in appearances for RPs. Ricky has to get his arm ready for 4 games in 5 days, and stuff like that.
  14. Yeah definitely rooting for a White Sox sweep or at least winning that series. Jays lost the SS to both CWS and TEX, so not a good thing for Cleveland to win the Central, but as long as one of the Central teams chokes down the stretch it will help the Jays chances.
  15. Jays are 1 back of the Guardians, but now only 1.5 back of the White Sox. Those two have a 3 game series Mon-Wed. Have to hope for a sweep from either one of them with the Jays hopefully taking care of business against the Tigers.
  16. Lorenzen brought in to ensure Varland gets used today. I see right through JS.
  17. They should have stopped the game and had Vlad celebrate on the field like Ripken in 95. Missed opportunity. But man it feels good to see some home runs from this team.
  18. Have to win tomorrow’s game. Ace on the mound on extra rest and a chance to win a series and create some distance in the standings on a team right behind you.
  19. JS trying to make the game close so he can use Rogers and Varland. Time for the offense to hopefully put the game out of reach here.
  20. Team trying to carry Vlad's 1 WAR ass to a playoff appearance. We're doing 2023 one more time.
  21. If Spaghetti is coming in, then this lead was fun while it lasted.
  22. The Guardians are probably winning the Central, and the Jays lost the season series to the White Sox, so that might make it harder to get the WC3 spot now. I guess the White Sox are more likely to completely collapse down the stretch while the Guardians were never going to do that, but the Jays can't tie either the Rangers or White Sox, and they may lose the SS to the Orioles as well depending on how the rest of the season goes. Looks pretty damn unlikely, but who knows. Gotta hope Bateman can keep carrying these scrubs.
  23. Agreed. Objectively the Jays are not really a well run organization. Their biggest success came from an era where they had two star players in years 0-7 of service time and a high payroll to add free agents around them. Now one of those “stars” is a $35M a year albatross, the other is gone, and they don’t have a single young position player that projects to be significant surplus value going forward. Every time they need to fill a hole it’s either throwing money at it or trading prospects. Eventually that model is going to catch up to you unless there’s some positive player development mixed in. There was absolutely zero reason to believe Gimenez was a $100M player. I’m still floored by that trade.
