  1. I'm not even mad at Charlie anymore. He has no business on a big league bench, but someone had to hire him to be the manager. This is on Atkins.
  2. Buntoyo definitely playing 4D chess. Since 2018 Panik has a 71 wRC+ against RHP in 512 PA, so bench the best hitter on the team so far to get dat sweet vetrin bat in the lineup. I swear, the Rays only kept that man employed to get Cash coffee every game. I can't think of one damn thing he could contribute to a team as analytical as the Rays. The Yankees fired Girardi after losing in game 7 of the ALCS. Atkins better grow a set and do the right thing this winter.
  3. Is Teoscar hurt? Playing Joe Panik over him when the team just had 4 days off earlier is insane, even by Buntoyo's standards. He's been our best position player so far.
  4. That's why I said MLB development. The Yankees can identify Hicks, Didi, Urshela, Voit, Tauchman, etc, and turn them around almost instantly. That's not a fluke. Either they are cheating or they are superior in developing hitters than just about anyone (I'll assume the latter for now). The Jays don't have that track record at the big league level. They look very good at drafting and international scouting, but we have to see that manifest into MLB results. The Yankees aren't perfect either. They fell in love with Drury before the Jays did, but sold as high as they could when they couldn't fix him. Either way, the Jays have time. It's still early in the careers of their top young players.
  5. The Yankees have a track record of developing hitters recently. Not many teams have that sort of consistent success turning hitters around. He went into the right situation and got fixed. That never would have happened here in all likelihood. I do think it's fair to question the MLB development for the Jays (Vlad looks like a mess and he's as close to can't miss as there is as an offensive talent) but Urshela is not an example of that.

2nd in the East is close to locked up which is important. The difference between playing Orlando/Brooklyn in the first round and possibly the Sixers is huge.
  7. I would have kept Hatch in there.
  8. He should, but Montoyo is Montoyo.
  9. Hatch is the real deal. He'll be in the 2021 rotation from day 1 (health permitted).
  10. Didn't Ryu throw 100 pitches on opening night, or close to it? And if I recall he was out of gas way before he was taken out. I mean, it is what it is. As long as Hatch goes multiple innings, I'm fine with it.
  11. This ump is equally bad to both pitchers. He's all over the place.
  12. Don't know why the Braves cut that throw off, but thank you.
  13. Yeah I don't mind Shaw being platooned, but if Drury is the only option to play that role, then might as well keep Shaw in there everyday. Drury sucks against everyone.
  14. That’s TJ #2 for Osuna. He has a better chance of recovering than a SP would, but he’s out until 2022 at the earliest. Career definitely in jeopardy.
  15. Hopefully this is a wake up call for the players. The Marlins and Cards seem to be the careless exception rather than the norm, but if they want to get through September and into October, then the players have to be disciplined.
  16. Manfred probably used the cheapest option available to him. That's all he cares about.
  17. Judge is on a home run tear.
  18. Other than the Marlins, this doesn't appear to be that big of an issue. A couple of positives here and there were inevitable. Hopefully they can continue the season somewhat peacefully from here on out.

Lowry was on a mission tonight. OG’s 3+D game is coming along nicely as well.
  20. Manfred has alerted the TV networks. I think this weekend might be the last we see of baseball until 2021. If Manfred and Clark lose their jobs over this, that’s the only way any good comes out of this.
  21. Yeah if one or two players testing positive is enough to cancel games, then torpedo the whole season and just come back in 2021. They'll lose fans in the process, but being a running joke in North American sports for royally messing this up isn't going to do much for their brand either. Either use the taxi squad for what it was meant for (ex. players who tested positive are quarantined and replaced by taxi squad members) or stop wasting our time.
  22. A chance to manage Vlad, Bo, Biggio, Pearson, etc, for 5+ years is likely appealing versus what the job looked like in 2018-19. Maybe a Baldelli type accepts the job this time. But no, hard to be confident when Montoyo is the recent sample size of their managerial hirings.
  23. Exactly. If he entered 2019 as manager without an extension, then he would have basically been a lameduck because the team had the option, not him. That makes it more likely that the team moved on, not him. My point was if Shatkins gave him indication that they wanted him to stick around long term, he wouldn't have cared if the team was rebuilding for a couple of years. He would have taken it. He's not voluntarily leaving a well paid manager job in his late 50's when he knows he's likely not getting another one. His best shot is AA hiring him in that role, and maybe that's what he's banking on.
