Not sure they would have gotten Randy on that, but IKF bobbling anything in his direction at 2B seems to be an every game trend in the playoffs.

Scherzer earned his contract with this start tonight. Incredible. Best of 3 with home field again (though going by this series that's not necessarily a good thing). Win tomorrow and go back home with 2 shots to end it.

Yeah I could understand using Hoffman since he was probably already warming up when the game was a bit closer but not sure why they are using Dominguez here in a 6 run game. Maybe they didn't want to count on him tomorrow with 4 days of rest. Who knows. JS doesn't think any lead less than 10 is safe. Certainly one of the lower leverage guys like Lauer or Yariel have the potential to stink it up and make the game closer.

Clean inning on 12 pitches. Hoff should be good for tomorrow.

Hoffman was probably warming up when the score was 6-2 and the top of the order was due up for the M's. The Jays adding 2 made it less optimal but if he's already warmed then you might as well use him, especially since he hasn't pitched much in these playoffs. Can't pitch him too much, but also can't give him too much rest. He seems to stink in both scenarios.
