  1. Can't ask for a better scenario here. Dodgers pen has been their weakness, and the Jays get them in the 5th. Have to take advantage of this.
  2. I mean, if you prefer Shulman/Buck over Joe Davis then that's wonderful.
  3. 1-2-3 inning for Max. Nice. Not sure if they allow him to face the top of the order again (unless he threatens to kill JS like last time) but he's been solid tonight.
  4. Watching the SN feed (no choice, prefer FOX), and Shulman gets way too excited for fly balls.
  5. Big time throw from Barger. Now score some runs so I don't have to hate this umpire for all eternity.
  6. Yeah the call sucked, I get why Varsho would toss his bat thinking it was a walk (Vlad does that when the ball is in the strike zone) but not sure why Bichette would be that far off the bag without confirming what the call was. Regardless, if the ump makes the right call then it's 1st/2nd/0 out so it's mostly on the umpire, but Bo can't be without some blame there. Just a s***** situation. Hope it doesn't decide the game.
  7. Yeah I get that, but a runner shouldn't assume anything. Bad calls by umps happen all the time. Bichette just walking to 2nd assuming it was the ball was not the right move. The umpire is ass, but Bo needs to take some blame there as well.
  8. Wait, I'm watching my son while watching the game. I thought Varsho was called out on strikes on that bad call, but it was only strike 2. Why was Bo off the bag?
  9. Unbelievable. F the umpires man. This is not the time for this BS.
  10. I had faith in Max turning back the clock against the Mariners but I don’t have that same optimism against the Dodgers. Hope Mad Max still has 1-2 more throwback games in him. My guess is the Jays don’t want Bieber to start unless it’s with extra rest (due to coming back from TJS) and that’s impossible in a 7 game series where he starts Game 3. So maybe the logic is just let him go all out in Game 4, and figure out Game 7 if it happens.
  11. Yeah not much you could have done tonight. Yamamoto was a stud and shut the Jays down. Move on to Game 3.
  12. IKF in the lineup, Bo out. Probably a “load management” situation here as Bo is likely still hurt. Hopefully he’s good for pinch hitting later.
  13. What a great game. Kept it close until they got to the Dodgers bullpen and then blew it open. That should be the formula for the rest of the series. Keep it going.
  14. The Jays started IKF for 4 straight ALCS games when they were trailing in the series, so for them to actually put Bo at 2B means that they think he can handle it defensively. The one thing they generally don't do is mess around with defense. They value it more than any team in the league. Curious to see how Bo looks. The Jays don't have any heavy GB pitchers, so it hopefully won't be too big of an issue. Although it's baseball, so Bo having to field many of the balls in play could easily happen anyway. Regardless, if the Jays want a shot at beating the Dodgers, then they need Bichette in the lineup. Let's see what happens. Excited to watch this one.
  15. Giving a vetrin to John Schneider is extremely dangerous. Would much rather have Joey just because JS would never play him, whereas he might shoehorn France into plate appearances. Regardless, DH is either going to be Bo or Springer. Vlad is always going to be 1B. France is likely just a pinch hitter.
  16. If Springer prefers to play DH and is still hobbled by the knee issue, then Bo starting at DH may not be the best decision, even though on paper it's clearly the best option. Springer, outside of Vlad, is the most important bat in the lineup. Need to have him in the best spot for him to succeed. Let's see where the Jays put Bo when the lineups come out. If he's at DH and Springer is in the OF, then from an offensive upside standpoint, that's the best lineup the Jays could field if Bo can't play the field yet. Have to hope Springer is healthy enough to do that though.
  17. Yeah putting aside what Bo at 2B could do for the World Series, it does indicate that there might be a path to a reunion. No chance a team that put IKF on the field for 4 straight ALCS games when trailing the series is going to value Bichette as a SS on the FA market. At 2B, assuming he's decent there, it's a different story. I've said before I don't think the Bo FA market is going to be all that robust. Be patient, let him test the market, and then bring him back if it makes sense and he's willing to play 2B. But cross that bridge when you get there. First let's see if he's healthy enough to play 2B adequately. That changes the potential of the lineup significantly.
  18. Little should absolutely not be used in this series. The Dodgers are not going to chase his junk in the dirt. Hopefully, Fluharty has surpassed him on the depth chart and is used for the big spots against LHB. When it comes to the pen, only thing certain is that Hoffman is the closer and Varland is about to have 7 appearances in 9 days. Everything else will depend on the situation.
  19. You’re right about being up 2-1. Don’t know why I thought they were down, but I was young at the time so memory playing tricks on me. Regardless, Springer’s HR is firmly #2 all time now.
  20. Unless I was seeing things, Shapiro was celebrating the Jays Game 7 win in a suite with Ed Rogers in it. If he’s not already extended, then it’s likely just a formality at this point. But regardless of what happens in the WS, the front office deserves a lot of credit for this season.
  21. I think Springer's HR is firmly #2 now with Alomar #3. Bautista's had the bat flip and the aura but it was just the ALDS. Springer's was a Game 7 ALCS go ahead HR, and Alomar's was pivotal in the Jays tying the 1992 ALCS (were on the verge of going down 3-1 in the series before it).
  22. Poor DS sits on the bench for like 2 weeks and then has to face Blake Snell in Game 1 of the World Series.
  23. The AL is going to run out of pitchers by the 7th inning.
