  1. Most likely because Diaz and Kawasaki are similar players, with Diaz having a better glove.
  2. My guess is that Diaz got the call because of his versatility(2B, 3B, SS, OF) and his ability to take a walk (47 BBs in AAA last year with the Red Sox). Still, Reyes hopefully will be back soon, although he was struggling this spring as well. They didn't call him up for his bat..
  3. Billy Hamilton, to be exact. He has speed like Coleman and Rickey Henderson, but he can't hit..
  4. Exactly. It's only one game, and most teams lose to David Price anyway, as he dominates the AL East, especially us, Baltimore, and the Yankees. He won't have the same luck next time, as he has the Rangers next, the team who he loses against.
  5. I agree. Especially when Moore pitches later this week.. his peripherals(mostly the BBs) worry me. And Buehrle doesn't walk anyone, so we'll have a shot on Wednesday. Remember, this Rays team was #1 in walks last year. To beat the Rays, DON'T WALK THEM! Also, Price dominates the AL East, especially us (14-2), Baltimore (7-2), Boston (10-6), and the Yankees (9-4). Just don't have him pitch in Texas(2-4).
  6. Have you seen his strikes/balls ratio so far? 49 strikes, 8 balls. That's insane!
  7. Lind will be back in the lineup tomorrow, with a righty on the mound. I wonder if Thole will even still be around tomorrow after this game..
  8. BTW, here's an interesting factoid about Price: With Jose Molina: 2.67 ERA Lobaton(now in Washington): 3.86 ERA Hanigan: TBD.. Price sure does well when Molina catches him..
  9. Jose Fernandez was a Marlins product. And we'll be able to trade for him within 2 years, when the Marlins are forced to trade him because of Jeffrey Loria being a cheapskate.
  10. Hey, we still scored more runs than the Red Sox.. they had every shot to beat Baltimore, but their lineup went 0-10 with RISP. Wonder if that team is already missing Ellsbury..
  11. Hopefully Hutchison will be better tomorrow. Hopefully Jeffress is gone by first pitch tomorrow after that disaster..
  12. Well, at least it's only the first game of the season.. but we gotta do better than this.
  13. Can someone throw Jeffress into the Rays tank or to Raymond? This is getting ridiculous..
  14. Forgot to mention DeJesus got hurt, if it's any consolation. Considering he's the Rays leadoff guy, it could be a blow to that team. Otherwise, I bet Jeffress gets cut after this outing...
  15. Please get rid of Jeffress! We have better guys in the minors than this gas can..
  16. DFA Jeffress! What a dingbat.. why would you try to make a play like that??
  17. That's it for Price. Now let's see if we can hit Peralta and Balfour..
  18. Kratz on deck for Thole.. are you guys happy now? And the Rays guys(announcers) are better than ours.
  19. Someone forgot to tell Escobar how many outs there were.. what a brain cramp for him.
  20. Good to see that the Jays are taking some pitches... Price is almost up to 70 pitches through 4+ IP
  21. Now 14-10 Philly in that Texas game. So much for being offensively challenged..
