  1. Sorry, I forgot to read MLB rules regarding foreign substances: (a) "The pitcher shall be ejected immediately from the game and shall be suspended automatically for 10 games." And it'll likely be more than that with the current issues with PEDs..
  2. Pine tar on his neck? He's gonna be gone a while for this.. expect a lengthy suspension, possibly 25-50 games for this.
  3. Why? How was he ejected? Balls/strikes? Foreign substance (which would result in a lengthy suspension.. ask Sammy Sosa with his corked bat.)
  4. TJ McFarland already up and likely coming in soon.. 6-1 now on the EE single!
  5. Tillman is throwing high 80s beach balls tonight.. and his control has been awful too.
  6. Pineda getting lit up by the Sox right now.. could this be the overdue regression expected for him?
  7. Yankees/Red Sox on TSN2. And it's quite windy in Boston..
  8. Mark Trumbo has a stress fracture in his foot. He'll be out a while. How long until Gibson or Towers gets fired in Arizona? What a gong show of a franchise.. almost as bad as Seattle.
  9. Nava has been hitting like Goins this year. (.149/.240/.269). And with Victorino returning and Jackie Bradley Jr. establishing himself in CF, Boston could no longer afford to carry Nava on the roster, especially with the team 9-12, with several regulars regressing significantly. And trading Mike Carp is a non-starter. Nava is actually hurting the Red Sox, with a -0.4 WAR this year. Of course, outside of the bullpen and Mike Napoli, the team is struggling as a whole. Defensively, they're below replacement level (-0.3 dWAR), with their entire starting outfield not named Jackie Bradley Jr. being below average defensively.
  10. Total attendance so far.. the growth of that number in Seattle is expected to crater with the team being 7-13(boy, reminds me of what happened to us last year.)
  11. Rather have them in the AL Central.. we'd get our natural rival Detroit more often.
  12. A lot of teams have mediocre attendance right now, unless you're the Yankees, Dodgers or Cardinals, or the Red Sox. If you think our numbers are bad, don't look at Cleveland's! Indians attendance is near Expos territory.
  13. And their bad start will likely send fans fleeing for the Sounders(MLS), or wait for Seahawks season.
  14. They'll come on the weekend vs. the Red Sox. Orioles and Astros aren't big sellers.Plus, we've been on the road most of the season so far. Attendance in MLB is down as a whole by 95,000 fans compared to last season. And expect it to fall further once Seattle fans abandon the team as it continues to struggle (up 4,000/game for now, but it won't last.)
  15. Yes. And with Sale going on the DL, that pitching in Chicago is going to regress further. Charlie Leesman was terrible vs. Detroit tonight, and Rienzo will likely get lit up tomorrow.
  16. Uhh.. Raptors game down the street? That's why attendance was down tonight.
  17. They also have the best run differential in the AL East at +10. (The Yankees, who lead the AL, are in the negative at -3, mostly because of the struggles outside of Pineda and Tanaka, of which Pineda is due for regression sooner or later.) Tampa Bay is +5, but can they score consistently? Chicago leads with 115 runs, but is offset by garbage pitching giving up 115 runs as well. Oakland leads run differential in the AL with +31, and of course Houston is the worst, followed by Cleveland and Boston.
  18. Why won't Seattle play Franklin? Miller's currently at .187 with a 23/2 K/BB ratio in 75 ABs.. he's like Seattle version of JP Arencibia from last year right now.. while Nick Franklin rots on the bench. Oh, and the Mariners are struggling vs. Colin McHugh. What a pathetic franchise.. they make the Jays look really good.
  19. Franklin's not getting traded. In fact, he'll be likely starting at SS soon with Brad Miller continuing to stink up in Seattle (.187, 23/2 K/BB ratio.) Those numbers would get you demoted to AAA, where Miller belongs right now.
  20. Yet the Angels still don't have the pitching to contend.. and have Texas and Oakland ahead of them in the division.
  21. Josh Stinson is going to get DFAd after this performance tonight.. Baltimore can't afford to keep taxing their pen. And it's not like they have three long men that could start if necessary like we do..
  22. Baltimore's bullpen makes the Jays one look good. And if Stinson doesn't work out here, Lough may have to pitch.. Baltimore's pen is taxed heavily from that Red Sox series.
  23. Dr. James Andrews must be having a great year financially. Yet another arm is headed for Tommy John in Johnny Hellweg, a top prospect for the Brewers.
  24. Nova will be non-tendered. He's arb eligible for a 2nd time in 2015 and may not even return then either, because recovery takes 12-18 months.
