  1. And getting zero run support. 0-0 in the 7th.
  2. Winning run at 2nd for the Red Sox..c'mon Herrera.
  3. Up to TJ McFarland to get the O's to the 10th..
  4. He sure is. 2 Ks and a groundout, and now the Sox can win it with a big hit.
  5. Well, it didn't work out for Boston in the 8th.. but they have Uehara pitching the 9th, so a good chance for Boston to win it in the bottom of the 9th.. and they still have Ortiz, Betts, and Gomes on the bench..
  6. Very solid outing by Lester. Now all Boston needs is a run.. still 2-2 in the 8th.
  7. Most like #2. Also it's likely that the Jays are limiting Sanchez and Norris's innings to protect their arms this year.
  8. Red Sox/O's tied at 2. Most of the runs have been caused by Boston's 3 errors (Lester, Pedroia, Bogaerts). Stephen Drew finally hit a HR.
  9. Yes, because the A's have a limited window to win a World Series, as the roster is going to get expensive next year or 2016, and the A's will be forced to rebuild again.
  10. Not enough sample size. With Seattle, he was hitting .280/.357/.320, mostly playing vs. left handers. As I said, this is an upgrade, albeit a small one, over Mastro/Glenn.
  11. Bye bye to Brad Glenn or Mastro.. Gillespie is at least an upgrade (not much, though). .254/.312/.324, can play all three OF spots. Anything is better than Glenn/Mastro.
  12. AAA numbers traditionally don't translate into MLB.
  13. And they're wrong. Detroit is coming back in the game, now only down 5-3.
  14. That I agree with. I mean, the Mets are going nowhere, and Colon has pitched in the AL before.
  15. Just in off of MLB Trade Rumors: Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal #Cubs in serious talks with #Athletics on big trade, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. If completed, Hammel and/or Samardzija would go to A’s. Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Addison Russell’s name has been discussed with #Cubs, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. He is not playing today for #Athletics’ Double A club. Wow.. the A's really want to get a World Series ring this year.
  16. Unless Baltimore loses tomorrow in the day part of the doubleheader.
  17. No chance. Price is gone as soon as someone meets their price. They need to trade him now... his value will drop the longer they hold him. And they need the O's, Jays and Yankees to melt down to even cut that gap.
  18. Let's hope AA knows this. Remember, the AL East is weak, and with the upcoming sked, Toronto may have a shot at retaking first, as Baltimore heads into a difficult stretch starting tomorrow. We know the Yanks won't have CC Sabathia coming back, which means more of Whitley, Nuno and whatever AAAA garbage they have in SWB unless they make a trade. Boston's still too far back, and no idea on the Rays.
  19. If there's some good news to mention, Seattle is getting pounded by the White Sox 5-0 right now, of which a Mariners loss puts the Jays only 1 out of the 2nd wild card.
  20. If this gets to 13, the A's will likely have to go to Otero again.. all they have left is Jim Johnson, unless they want a starter or Eric Sogard/Nick Punto to pitch.
  21. Lind in for Tolleson. Francisco at 3rd next half-inning.
