  1. I think it has something to do with the halo in the Angels logo or something like that. Anyway, disappointing loss.. but our next three opponents (TB at 42-51, TEX at 38-52, BOS at 39-51) are a combined 119-154, along with a Tanaka-less Yankees.. certainly we can get hot on these teams. I'm not buying TB's recent rally, as I expect the team to still be blown up at the deadline. Also, the Jays are 5-2 vs. the Rays this year, including a split at the Trop earlier this year.
  2. True, but it was a hard hit line drive.. unfortunately, Aybar is one of the best SSs in the game.
  3. This Red Sox team was 54-37 last year at this time! How do you manage to lose 15 games in the standings, and are on pace for a 20-game regression from 2013, which would put them at 75-80 wins. Don't be surprised if Cherington and Farrell are joining Gibbons and possibly AA(IF they keep losing) on the unemployment line at the end of the season for this. Boston media is not taking this well.. and Cherington still thinks it's not time to sell yet, when most Boston fans know it's time for the Sox to start dealing pending free agents (Peavy, Uehara, Lester, AJ, Drew, etc.) Here's Cherington's delusion.. does anyone think he's almost as bad as AA? http://nesn.com/2014/07/ben-cherington-red-sox-will-never-be-a-true-seller/
  4. True, but all those hits he could get in AA and AAA are usually outs in the majors with better defenses and pitching both in the infield and outfield.
  5. Red Sox down 6-3 in the 9th. THE Mookie Betts has not been a saviour for Boston, going 0-4, and showing he needs to go back to AAA with his .174 AVG.
  6. Red Sox fans are asking the same question.. they've been equally as inept as the Jays. And they're losing again. As for the Jays, at least Gillespie isn't in the lineup. This has got to be the injury that gets Eric Kratz up here..
  7. Cole Gillespie is day-to-day with an oblique injury. Just DL him and get Kratz or Gose up here, please? Barry Davis @SNBarryDavis · 2h Gillespie tells me he injured his oblique while swinging pregame. Is day to day for now. This is his 1st time with that inj. #bluejays
  8. Yankees losing 5-3 with Tanaka starting. Not a good thing.. are they trying, along with the Jays, to hand Baltimore the division and get Tampa back in the race?
  9. http://www.si.com/mlb/2014/07/08/toronto-blue-jays-slump-edwin-encarnacion-al-east Man we suck.. where the heck did the offense go? No wonder we're 10-20 in our last 30. We're worse than Boston (12-18 in last 30). We need a bat..
  10. Schedule will get easier after LA.. although Tampa's playing better. But will they keep it up? After the break, we've got a terrible Rangers team and a struggling Red Sox team. Of course, we need to start scoring more. As for the O's, they head out west after the break.
  11. Same thing could be said to any other team in the AL East not named Baltimore. It's not just limited to Toronto. None of the other teams in the East outside of the Orioles are contending.. especially considering Baltimore's had a huge run since June 1st. Since June 1st- Orioles: 22-13 Rays: 18-18 Yankees: 16-18 Blue Jays: 14-20 Red Sox: 13-21 Certainly Baltimore has to cool off sooner or later..
  12. The Rays just got blown out by KC. And after this road trip, we have an easier sked.
  13. Chris Davis just homered.. sh**. 4-2 O's.
  14. Red Sox offense is SO bad, they're getting 1 hit by Scott Carroll and the White Sox pen. WTF?
  15. That's yesterday's lineup. Here's the correct one. Reyes-SS Kawasaki-2B Cabrera-LF Bautista-1B Lind-DH Navarro-C Rasmus-CF Reimold-RF Francisco-3B Happ-P Don't like the idea of Reimold in RF...
  16. Good start by Strasburg. Go Nats.
  17. People in the US will do anything for a buck..
  18. Joon Lee ‏@iamjoonlee Rubby De La Rosa left the game for Pawtucket after a scoreless first inning tonight. Assume #RedSox trying to keep options open. Trades coming in Boston, especially after the Sox lost AGAIN, and are fading out of the race worse than the Jays. UPDATE: Never mind. I forgot Boston needs a spot starter Wednesday.
  19. Mostly padded by wins against the dregs of the AL, such as Texas, Houston, Cleveland, Tampa and Chicago, teams well below .500(32-11 vs. them) The team's 18-25 vs. above .500 teams. And they need SP badly.. a backend of Skaggs, Shoemaker and Santiago won't cut it in meaningful games in September and October. The A's getting Hammel and Samardzija was a major blow to the Angels.
  20. While bad, at least we're not 9 games back like the Red Sox and Rays, two teams who were supposed to contend. We can't get to L.A. soon enough. Of course, L.A.'s record is inflated by playing the godawful Houston Astros.. they're not a strong team vs. the A's or Mariners, which could be costly later this season and in the postseason. L.A.'s pitching is a major downgrade from the A's, and we miss Garret Richards.
  21. In this awful AL East? None of the teams look like contenders either.
  22. Ruined a great outing by their "ace" Kevin Gausman (he's their best pitcher) Too bad the combo of McFarland, Matsuz, Webb and Hunter have combined to blow a 6-1 lead.
  23. Not only is he an upgrade as Adam Lind's platoon partner at DH, he's better than Glenn and Mastro on the roster. Just don't play him in the OF.
  24. Adam Lind's new platoon partner I bet. Potentially high-reward deal if he stays healthy. I expect him to DH vs. left-handers. Say goodbye to Glenn..
