Darn. Let's hope the pen gets us to a 12th inning. At least we don't have to watch the Mets/Rangers game.. and Niese got hurt on a line drive by Rios.

Finally, we get to see Rasmus. Hopefully we never see Glenn again. Bring on Kratz!

And keep in mind the A's don't have a Todd Redmond type in their pen, because Jeff Francis was DFAd to get O'Flaherty on the roster. All they have is Otero, Cook and gas can Jim Johnson.

Three lefties on the mound and not enough production from him, and having too many OFs pretty much sealed his fate.

No comment. At least Bautista's in the lineup though. Gose to AAA BTW, with lefties on the mound, Rasmus close to return and Mastro having CF experience.

Back to a 7 man bullpen. Cecil is activated off the 15 day DL. To make room, Anthony Gose was optioned to AAA Buffalo. Considering his struggles, Rasmus expected to return tomorrow and lefties on the mound, he was better off playing every day in Buffalo. Expect Glenn to be optioned shortly as well for Kratz when eligible.

Well, Buchholz is healthy now. Workman, however, shouldn't be here. His peripherals stunk in AAA Pawtucket this year. De La Rosa should be up here in that 5th spot, as he was dominating in AAA and the majors. Hopefully Boston realizes this soon. That rotation of Lester, Lackey, Buchholz is decent.. but they need to cut the deadweight of Peavy and get Workman back to AAA and De La Rosa back up here.

And we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what the Sox do vs. the O's. Game postponed due to Tropical Storm Arthur. DH tomorrow.

O's won't win if their pitching staff doesn't improve. You can't contend with a bunch of #4 and #5 starters, especially in the playoffs, although Kevin Gausman shows promise. And most teams aren't like the Rangers who they just faced, who basically sent a near AAA pitching staff out that series. O's will need to hit vs. the Red Sox.. Lester and Lackey are going in that series, vs. the weaker parts of the O's pitching staff. I can see the Jays back in 1st quickly if we can win vs. the A's.

Lawrie will be back post-All Star break. And our schedule is pretty easy compared to Baltimore, who have a difficult West Coast swing post break. No easy teams like the O's just saw vs. the Rangers, who are possibly worse than the Astros right now.

Despite Baltimore's strong performance, they head into a difficult stretch between now and mid-August. They face a tough Nats team next week.

Only when Lester and Lackey pitch, as they will this weekend, and sometimes Buchholz. Peavy, Doubront and Workman(shoulda kept De La Rosa) are garbage.

Baltimore better enjoy it now.. Lester, Lackey and Peavy are scheduled to go in the series for the Red Sox. Perhaps the Red Sox cool those hot O's bats.

In his MLB debut tonight, 3B Zelous Wheeler (strange name..) hit a 3-run shot vs. Phil Hughes. 4-2.
