  1. Mariners interested in Drew Stubbs: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/mariners-have-inquired-with-rockies-on-drew-stubbs.html If the Mariners are wanting to make this deal, Jack Z seems to be trying to get himself fired.. Stubbs numbers outside of Coors are terrible. (.229/.277/.343). In addition, the Rockies want a young arm in return.
  2. Desperation move for the Yanks again. Means that Francis is going to be DFAd along with Leroux, as both are garbage AAA fodder. Capuano pitched himself out of Boston with a 4.55 ERA and FIP/xFIP over 4, and a SIERA of 3.92. And putting him in Yankee Stadium spells trouble, being a flyball pitcher who couldn't even cut it in Boston.
  3. Twins must've really wanted to get rid of him. His numbers have been lousy in Minnesota: .234/.259/.325, 1HR, 18RBIs, 6/27 BB/K ratio, 11 doubles. Only a marginal upgrade from Corey Hart and Logan Morrison and Justin Smoak. For Stephen Pryor.. didn't he use to be a good reliever for the Mariners?
  4. Regarding NYY and BOS adding heavily to their rosters.. no guarantees on that. Free agency crop is severely lacking for this offseason. New York also has the albatross of the A-Rod deal to return to the roster. Yankees also have very little to spend, with $161M+ already on the books for 2015 without incurring severe luxury tax penalties at $178M (+11M in benefits.)
  5. Price and Zobrist aren't going anywhere now, with the Rays now only 4.5 back of a playoff spot because the Mariners don't have the bats to contend around Cano and Seager.
  6. And Seattle is getting upset likely that Price won't be a Mariner because the Rays are still contending. Looks like everyone still could catch Seattle.. look, outside of Felix and Iwakuma, the team isn't that good, as it lacks the offense to contend, and ownership refuses to add salary.
  7. Day game tomorrow. Two kids pitching tomorrow.. although Stroman has the better stuff over De La Rosa..
  8. Agreed. Luckily, Jered Weaver is going tonight. BTW, love that MLB on Fox Sports music.. why the heck did the main Fox network replace the music with the NFL music?
  9. Everyone thought Syndergaard would be in the majors by now, not struggling with his command in Vegas and blocked by better arms like Montero, Niese, Gee and deGrom, and Matt Harvey next year.
  10. And then Tampa can finish off the Red Sox's playoff hopes this weekend. They better start taking bids on Peavy, Uehara, Gomes, Drew, etc.
  11. Well, now that Sanchez is in the majors, let's see what has happened to the rest of the Lansing trio: Syndergaard AAA (Vegas) , 8-5, 5.34 ERA, 1.527 WHIP, 10.9 H/9IP, 2.9 BB/9IP, 9.1 K/9IP. Nicolino: AA, 8-3, 3.12 ERA, 1.073 WHIP, 8.5 H/9ip, 1.1 BB/9IP, 4.2 K/9IP. He's been passed by Anthony Desclafani and Andrew Heaney on the depth chart. Most of his K's were left in Lansing. Syndergaard will likely reach the majors next.. but not until September or 2015, as his command isn't there yet. Of course, playing in Vegas doesn't help. Nicolino may not reach the majors until mid-late 2015 or later, as he has yet to reach AAA.
  12. Strange how out of the Lansing trio of Sanchez, Syndergaard and Nicolin, Sanchez has beat them to the majors while Syndergaard and Nicolino have had mixed results..
  13. And it means teams like the Mariners won't get David Price.
  14. Buchholz seems lost. No K's and his command is awful.
  15. Man, Kawasaki is really showing the glove at 3B.. why didn't we try him there sooner?
  16. Nice DP by Bautista.. especially against a speedster like Bradley Jr.
  17. Buchholz is imploding.. remember when he was the best pitcher for the Sox last season?
  18. Colon has a perfect game through 6 innings.
  19. Who would you cheer for in the BAL/SEA series? We're right in the wild card mix, but we want to catch Baltimore.. who should we support?
  20. Seattle losing 2-0 to Colon and the Mets.. a Mariners loss and a Jays win puts us right in the mix at 0.5 GB. So we should knock off the sell talk..
  21. And Headley hits a walk-off single.
  22. The Yanks/Rangers game has now gone so long, the Rangers are using Nick Tepesch (who we lit up on Sunday) in emergency relief. Will we see a position player pitch tonight?
  23. Dang it JPA.. Can't you take a walk??
  24. At the rate things are going, the Yanks are going to have to claim Brad Mills off waivers just to get a fresh arm after this marathon of a game..
  25. And as usual, the Yanks GIDP.. on to the 14th. Jeff Francis coming in.
