  1. O's trail 7-1. Looks like the deficit's going down to 3 games.
  2. Gausman fails to go 5, as the A's hitters have hit him around to the tune of 9 hits and 5 runs.. despite the small sample size of less than 80IP, those FIP/xFIP/SIERA numbers don't lie.. (3.55/4.33/4.45).
  3. Injury and regression, which began late last year.
  4. Yanks won earlier due to Aroldis Chapman's wildness in the 10th and a McCann walkoff single. So we'lll stay tied regardless of what happens here.. but let's hope LA and Oakland win tonight.
  5. Brady Anderson actually hit .288 the following year after his 50 HR season, and he didn't strike out at a 30%+ clip like Davis.
  6. He's turned back into the Adam Dunn clone he basically was that got dumped by the Rangers in that Koji Uehara trade.
  7. Angels just tied the game at 3 vs. Seattle.
  8. Nice win. Next up is a tough Red Sox team, which the Jays have a decent record against (4-2) and no Jon Lester to worry about. They're leading 6-0 still in the 8th.. what's wrong with Yordano Ventura? No K's.. Oh, and Oakland up 2-0 as we speak on Jaso's 3B.
  9. No, they're not. Not even close. Oh and BTW, the line on Yordano Ventura: 4.1 IP, 9 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 0 Ks. Looks like Ventura wasn't fooling any of the Sox hitters. The Royals are 5-9 (soon to be 5-10) on the month, and sliding out of contention. If they're a top 10 team, let's see them do that against contending teams like Toronto, Tampa, Baltimore (who they last 2 of 3 to recently) and the Yankees, who the Sox all have losing records against.
  10. A number of those stats, especially the hitting, were inflated from the 16-9 game earlier this month, and playing the joke of a team named the Houston Astros. And despite those stats you show, the team is .500 on the month.. and hasn't had a winning month this season. Boston's been winning a lot of 1-run games.. especially against offensively challenged teams.
  11. And BTW, I know Boston is hitting better. But it doesn't mean anything as much of it was inflated from a 16-9 rout by the Cubs on July 2, along with the Astros series. Quality of opponents also affects numbers as well (CHC, BAL, CHW, HOU, KCR).
  12. Upcoming matchups for the Red Sox series: Lackey (3.42 SIERA) vs. Hutchison (3.91 SIERA) Peavy(4.29 SIERA) vs. Happ (4.32 SIERA) Buchholz(4.13 SIERA) vs. Dickey (4.14 SIERA) TBA (likely De La Rosa)(3.67 SIERA) vs. Stroman (3.39 SIERA) Very evenly matched series.. but Toronto could have the advantage due to Boston's struggles with offense, even despite the recent win streak (14th in runs scored, 12th in average, last in SLG). Of course, their offense only benefits from recent games vs. Chicago and Houston, and their series against the offensively punchless Kansas City Royals.
  13. BTW, for the Boston series, no Lester for the Jays, as he's pitching vs. the Royals today.
  14. Another timely hit for Rasmus! 4-2 Jays. Let's get one more so we can get Buehrle a win..
  15. Nice time for that fan to get the ball.. although fan interference is bad. But we'll take the 2B.
  16. He's not bad. But his FIP, xFIP and SIERA peripherals (3.71/4.29/4.51) all projected he'd regress.
  17. Ugh Odor... and Reyes gets doubled off at 2nd. Not much you can do there.. I mean, Kendrick of the Angels had this happen to him last night too.
  18. Reyes with 2 RBIs! Wow the Rangers are awful... except when Darvish pitches.
  19. Tepesch can't throw strikes.. and Gose is not a guy you want to walk.
  20. What a joke.. Dodgers fans can't watch their team or listen to Vin Scully because of this cable "bubble" in the US driving up costs of deals and causing fight with cable and satellite companies. Are we gonna see another bankruptcy of an RSN like we saw in Houston last year at this rate? http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/dodgers-time-warner-directv-still-lobbing-grenades-at-each-other.html
