  1. Obvious obstruction. f*** the cheating Red Sox - first Lester's doctoring of the ball in Game 1, now this. And f*** Farrell for encouraging cheap tactics like that. So glad Jim Joyce actually had the balls to make a crucial call against the Sox.
  2. We already are them. A losing team with overpaid vets - how is that any different from us?
  3. LOL, did anyone really expect any different? f***ing fluke-ass Red Sox.
  4. Or rather, to sell tickets and merchandise. Of course, AA and Beeston are so inept that they can't even do that correctly.
  5. This organization is a f***ing clown show. It doesn't matter how many overpaid contracts AA hands out in free agency, this team will always suck under Rogers ownership.
  6. Oakland over Pittsburgh. Two organizations that were actually built the right way.
  7. That viewpoint is why the Blue Jays are a joke of a franchise. If they were actually serious about winning, then winning would be the main purpose, and then the money and fans would consistently be there as a result.
  8. ITT: Rogers employee/shill Troller Heads Prevail posts more homeristic ******** in a transparent attempt to sell tickets, and a couple idiots start white-knighting for him, causing one of them to melt down and leave forever. Can't believe I read this whole thread.
  9. I just got the sickening thought of AA actually paying him that much money in a misguided attempt to sell tickets.
  10. Hopefully enough will go unsold for Rogers to notice, fire Beeston, AA, and Gibbons, start the necessary rebuild, and for f***'s sake, get AA off this team.
  11. 1. Fire Beeston 2. Fire AA 3. Fire Gibbons 4. Blow it up 5. ??? 6. Profit!
  12. Spending money on Cano, Choo, Santana, etc. in free agency won't magically change the fact that this is a fundamentally flawed team and a non-contender. The only way this franchise can get out from under AA's mess is to blow it up and start from scratch, not keep jacking up payroll on a team that's not worth it.
  13. Also, keeping the payroll huge and bloated next year will ensure another horrendous team. We are soooo f***ed.
  14. Just gross how all the cronies will keep their jobs after this disaster of a season. I bet AA and Beeston will stay too. Pathetic.
  15. I'll strongly consider being done with this franchise until Rogers sells if they extend that complete scrub.
  16. I'm all for a clean sweep of this organization, with Beeston, AA, Gibbons, and most of the players gone. I just will never understand the stick that some people have up their ass about holding Gibbons accountable at all. This season was a total franchise failure, and last I checked, Gibbons is part of the franchise just as much as the players and front office are.
  17. There's no such thing as a curse in sports. Supposedly "cursed" teams all have three things in common: players/coaches who are incompetent or inconsistent, bad management, ownership that isn't committed to winning. "Curses" are what marketing departments come up with to deflect all blame from the franchise and what fans use to console themselves after bad losses or periods of mediocrity.
  18. Which is sad, considering that since the Jays came into existence in 1977, they've won the same number of championships as Boston. Really just goes to show how this franchise has been ruined by decades of incompetent ownership (Interbrew, Rogers) and management (Beeston, Gord Ash, Ricciardi, and AA).
  19. Cherington reminds me a lot of AA. He's being hailed as a genius right now because of one fluke bailout trade but he hasn't done much else worthy of the accolades. The only difference is that he's winning right now with Theo's players.
  20. As much as I detest Selig, the culture of cheating existed long before his reign of terror and will continue long after he's gone.
  21. Agreed. Compared to the wannabe insurance fraudsters at the Yankees and the senile judge/jury/executioner Selig, A-Rod looks better and better. His "crimes" are taking supplements that one can safely assume every pro athlete takes, wanting to play and earn his paycheck, and breaking records that old, bitter sportswriters didn't want to see broken. Plus, it's hilarious how A-Rod's basically become a living, breathing caricature of a sports villain. And I don't want the Yankees weaseling out of his contract. They made their bed, now they have to sleep in it.
  22. When you're getting in fistfights with your players, it's a disaster. When your organization decides they would rather have a 64-year-old who hadn't managed in over a decade than you, it's a disaster. Guess the Red Sox should have kept Valentine then, right? Somehow I doubt they regret firing him after last season's debacle. Clearly managers are important or teams would have long since stopped paying for them.
