  1. I've yet to hear a good reason why Gibbons should be exempt from all blame for this disaster of a season. His last stint here was a disaster and NOBODY else wanted him. Hiring him was a risk, and he's done nothing to validate the decision to bring him back. IMO, this season has been a total team failure, from Rogers to Beeston/AA to Gibbons and his staff to the players. I don't understand the meltdown people have when Gibbons in particular gets criticized for this season.
  2. And yet somehow Gibbons is still employed...
  3. Get over what? Pretty hard to get over the fact that we'll be pushing 30 years of no playoffs by the time we've finally emerged from the mess AA made.
  4. And if AA, Beeston, and Gibbons don't get fired and no major changes are made to the roster, they'll have the highest attendance decrease in the MLB next year. Ratings are also already down from last year. The fans are getting disgruntled, but sadly, Rogers will only consider the bottom line and be as tonedeaf as possible.
  5. Easy to dislike the fact that it took our incompetent front office this long to dump that useless bum.
  6. Does it matter? If they're having these kinds of miscommunications all the time, they're incompetent. If they're lying, they're incompetent. Either way, Beeston, AA, and Gibbons must go.
  7. Because AA has no idea how to put together a pitching staff, so we have to shuffle through wilted turds like Rogers.
  8. Probably got put in Twitter jail.
  9. While they're at it, they should rename AA's job description from "General Manager" to "Unemployed."
  10. This franchise is already f***ed and has been for 20 years. The combination of Rogers' feckless ownership and being in a division with the Sox, Yankees, and Rays has essentially killed a once-proud franchise. This franchise won't even be competitive until Rogers sells the team.
  11. This franchise is a f***ing embarrassment. AA is a disgrace.
  12. LOL, and you do? Your plan of throwing money at overrated big-name losers has turned this franchise into a laughingstock already. Hey dumbass, I was an Expos fan, and you're so wrong, it's ridiculous. Nearly every great player we ever had came up through the farm system. The worst move in Expos history by far was trading Cliff Lee, Grady Sizemore, and Brandon Phillips - all prospects drafted and developed by the Expos - for a half-year rental of Bartolo Colon. To this day, that trade is regarded as one of the worst in the history of baseball, but that's the type of move that you are shilling for to sell tickets.
  13. We've stayed there for 20 years and counting. LOL, cut the ********. We have eyes. You're not selling tickets for the same old crap next year no matter how you spin it. Luck is not a strategy. Can't speak for everyone but I'll be happy when we have a consistent winner and a competent organization. Neither is happening at the moment.
  14. I'd rather it be viewed as a totally abysmal season. If it just looks bad/mediocre, Beeston and AA get a free pass to ruin the team even more. If our record is atrocious, Rogers may consider firing those bums.
  15. This. Babe Ruth injected himself with sheep testosterone because he thought it would make him hit better. Ty Cobb, Harry Hooper, and Joe Jackson took a drug called "nuxated iron" because they thought it increased their stamina during training. Tom House, who played for the Braves in the '70s, claimed he and his teammates in Atlanta took "whatever steroid they could find," and that the same was true for all the other teams. Anyone who still trots out the tired old "sacred records are being cheapened!" argument against steroids is deluding themselves if they think those old records were accumulated without some sort of performance enhancers.
  16. YES, it's about damn time the players' union grew a pair and called out Bud on his judge, jury, and executioner act.
  17. Philly has serious issues because Amaro is your type of GM - someone who overpays wildly for any big name he can get.
  18. Are you kidding? Overrated "stars" will flock to Toronto to get overpaid and not have to deal with any expectations.
  19. I would MUCH rather be Tampa than this mess of a "big market" team. Spending aimlessly has gotten us nowhere and will never work, period.
  20. http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/006/526/conan_facepalm20110724-22047-1wzuhgz.jpg This organization just doesn't get it. NEWSFLASH: you cannot spend your problems away anymore, it has to be done through the draft and the farm.
  21. Ugh.... another step backward in the goals of getting a top-5 pick and much-needed change in the organization.
