  1. Melky...HUGE play! phew...we needed that..PLEASE don't be injured
  2. Izzy is far from great but I think he would have been useful right about now...
  3. Colon? Meh...however if price is not too steep the depth is welcome in our rotation. Cant believe we are still talking about the guy from that infamous Expos deal - still around and still reasonably effective. 9 and 11mm given what Arroyo signed for is not that big of a risk, but the guy is the opposite of Jared from the Subway ads. Every time I see him he looks like he ate another basketball.
  4. I realize you can only polish a turd so much vis a vis Izturis, but we have a lot of "sucks" right now on the field. I think he sucks less than Tolleson and some others and his career numbers do not indicate "mandatory regression". moot anyway...
  5. Ya..and OAK has no bombers either. We beat Lester a couple times already this year...we struggle against LHP some but there is no reason for the defeatism with this team imo. The top 4 in our line up match up well against LHP and we need them to have some big games....
  6. Seriously..?! STFU Jesus...this is the 1st game We just took 2 from MIL ...and the last one on a 3 run walk off.
  7. I don't understand Reyes not running with one out and Melky up...take the shot. DP killed us.
  8. That's f***ing awesome stuff...thanks!
  9. Didn't say he was great but he is as good if not better, as a vet with versatility and SW abilities, than some we have been playing. His career #s are better than last few yrs, but he was off to a decent start this yr and imo had the ability to contribute. Doesn't really matter...he gone.
  10. completely agree...and I usually don't even care about any of it. But in this case this year Id like to see Edwin get his due there again. He has been a beast yet again for us.
  11. If you haven't already voted, time is running out to send Edwin to the AS game, so you might want to. As of now he isn't going to make it, which is kind of an embarrassment for MLB and for us as Jays fans.
  12. Ya, I think an option 2016..not sure on that.
  13. A veteran switch hitter who can play 3 positions (sort of) with a lifetime .330 OBP. Given whats happened with the revolving door to Buff and some of the bench issues brought on by trips to the DL for our regulars, and match ups against LHP etc...I remembered this guy and thought it would be nice to have him about now...flaws and all. Pillar, Gose, Kawa, Tolleson, Francisco, Maestroani etc etc have all had their share of time, and some have contributed. But we do miss that stable vet presence at the plate and on the field. Watching Gose and whatever yesterday fail to execute the sac bunts highlighted that our bench depth is becoming more of an issue. Too bad for that freak injury. Didn't really get any notice at the time.
  14. Agree. I hate it....I left the old Board in part because Sempai and others nauseating calls for bunts endlessly. The "small ball" bs....what a joke...we saw the results today. There are very few circumstances where it makes sense to give up an out for a unsure advancement of runner.
  15. Agree on Navarro...but still...Navarro or Edwin...no contest. If he missed his 3-1 spot he missed it big time. I need to vent on sac bunts again - I hate giving up outs - and part of the reason is they are not automatically executed and that happened twice today. Makes me crazy. That's a skill the 2 guys who muffed them need to have. Props to the execution by Brewers though as well on the outs.
  16. Great win but troubling lack of execution...missed tough chance catches. The way it goes some days I guess.... I have no idea why they pitched to Edwin with who was behind him even if it loaded bases to BB him. Still seems surreal we DFA ed this guy at one point.
  17. I hate sac bunts and hate them more when they turn into that execution fiasco
  18. not even close! why don't you review 5th starters numbers for the AL.... Look at who we won with as 5th starters in 92 and 93. Few, if any, have top quality starters 1-5...not reasonable to expect.
  19. Lindy is a beast...all year and last. Trying to think if we have ever fielded this poor of an OF before?! Flashbacks of Lind and Delgado out there!
