  1. Lind is so locked in. His pitch selection is vintage 2009...
  2. Still pissed off Reyes can no longer make any tough chance...ever...then RA throws Manny a BP fastball right down the pipe. Hopefully we can get out of this.
  3. I love these videos...young Vlady was simply an awesome player. I remember him coming up...its been SO long we had a true impact player like that come up through Jays ranks. Remember Raines coming up....hitting and stealing everything.
  4. Agree on that. Davis's noodle arm we knew too well and made them pay for it. Jose's arm offsets a lack of range somewhat but its hard to account for in his defensive numbers. I thought the Jose Guillen throw clip was pretty incredible. Had forgotten his cannon. Makes me wonder why we tried to run on Cespedes in As series.
  5. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/79327560/ten-best-outfield-throws-in-baseball-yoenis-cespedes-vladimir-guerrero-yasiel-puig?partnerId=ed-8304699-658620023#!YT7O6 Nice list but they forgot this gem from Barfield:
  6. Welcome! newcomer myself. Go jays!
  7. Wins for pitchers and for f***ing goalies in the NHL as a stat for putting much weight on performance pisses me off.
  8. We don't need veterans per say. We have plenty. We need starter(s) who can pitch quality innings deep and get people out.
  9. Just my opinion, but in a GDT a little more vitriol and venting is acceptable. It does get over the top and too reactionary sometimes. It was almost like Pillars whole essence of being was sustained by his bloop winner...a stay of execution so to speak. The reality is he has done whats been asked of him and his outcome shouldn't be determined by his misguided dive or bloop. With him, I think his ability to LAY OFF A f***ING BALL OUT OF THE ZONE is going to determine his MLB prospects. Pitch selection is his kryptonite.
  10. ....Happ says "et tu Brute?"
  11. Amen to that. I love our team but we are drinking kool-aid if we think this rotation is good enough for 162 gms and post season. Happ has been better than expected. I'm too lazy to do it but I suspect if we broke down 5th SP across MLB his numbers would be in the top 3rd. He has the gift of low expectations because I assume he will get shelled every start and he hasn't been. He is ok.
  12. Cant argue with that at all. His ability to have an OBP N of .300 will determine if he can stick as an everyday player, even with the speed and D he has.
  13. I think you are right but there are and have been guys with high BB and high K totals and OBP I don't know if Gose will ever be able to cut down on that long swing. ALL we really know about Gose so far is he is fast and get em in the OF - and he costs $500k.
  14. I agree 100% with your comment. I will be happy to see Colby back as frustrating as the Ks can be. However, I still don't think OPS accurately reflects Gose's game.
  15. OPS is not a stat for evaluating Gose properly. He needs to have OBP and I don't give a f*** if its a drag or a dribbler he beats out or a liner. With his speed he can add base(s) later...and if he plays + D like he can, he is an extremely valuable asset.
  16. LOL...Pillar sticks...nice job hanging in there. gut check win.
  17. hate sac bunt. total waste of an out....Gose you cannot hit much, so you must get that down. period.
  18. Ok- deep breath - punch something - and get a run to win it on a walk off. that was an ugly inning
  19. That's a fair enough opinion. I hope you are right. @ this point I don't think you are. I think we would be kidding ourselves to think this rotation will hold up for 162 where we want to be. I don't think a "me too" mid to back end rotation guy helps much. Was looking at Cone's 92 stats regular and post season for us. Although things don't always work out that way he was stabilizing. The price ended up being high but we got a flag. Nothing is going to or has to happen for awhile anyway so lets see how it plays out.
  20. There is no doubt in my mind we can be in the post season but only with another 1/2 arm when that opp crystallizes, and the cost will sting. For now we are ok. Love the kid, but as this season drags on, issues such as Hutch's stamina will become even more magnified. Mark B is going to regress somewhat...RA will be what he is...Happ or Happ-less who knows....Stroman cant be that good (can he?)...I don't bet anything on Morrow. Not quite good enough even with our O and D imo.
  21. No doubt. f***in chicken littles. We have been on a epic roll. This team is good but not THAT good. We can expect to lose some GD games and even a few laughers and even against lesser teams. Look at who we have beaten. Got to keep the Ws and Ls in perspective cause 162 is a marathon and not a sprint.
  22. Great starts for both teams. Tip your cap to Cards and get them tomorrow.
  23. Jays have been shut out once this year and shut out opponents 8 times this year -- says a lot. Lets get a bunch this inning men.
  24. He got Kinsler for RA to get out of bases loaded jam this week...but it is flirting with disaster.
