  1. you don't say. I put my house on him having a .500 BABIP this season.
  2. lol. we haven't look good on some of archer's weaker sliders, but we are 3 innings into the season.
  3. Yup. Gibby gonna be Gibby and have us scratching our heads from time to time all season. Still rather have him than Yost and many others.
  4. Good inning. Great approaches by Jose, Tulo, Edwin and JD against that slider. taking 2 runs all day long.
  5. Feels like Christmas morning when I was a kid. Looking forward to Stro/Archer showdown. I love baseball.
  6. Woke up to this thread this am. Sips coffee. Smiles. Now I would like to read a similar thread regarding Carerra and a certain Italian or Canadian.
  7. The guy has defied the odds to get as far as he has. He hits a LO HR yesterday in ST and Buck yells out "I think we've found our lead off hitter". Throw up in mouth. I think even Gibby will conclude after 6 weeks or so he is not the guy we need getting any extra ABs with this line up. In the meantime, most will be pissed every time we see the line up card. FWIW Zaun was speaking truth yesterday on this subject.
  8. Man, seeing these guys kinda chokes me up. Some great memories for me watching the Expos. Truly sucks about Rick Monday, the strike and losing this team.
  9. You are the "bringer of dark clouds"
  10. Your reports are a lot better than Barry Davis's! Keep em comin'
  11. Good read. My thoughts are that if Tulo can get back to close to the 170 wRC+ he hit in 2014 and the others stay healthy, we are in for a fun year. I didn't know he didn't have one intentional walk all season. Says a lot about Jose on deck. I can't wait until Sunday.
  12. Yup. 2 hard hit balls is 2 for 5 in my books. We are kind of used to less parrot in April with the E-Rex.
  13. I don't see Cola having the kind of BABIP he did 2015 but he will be serviceable. Pillar had a 93 wRC+ 2015. I think he can do that again. I just think the all out way he plays D has a shelf life before injuries hit. I also wish Gibby wouldn't be so brain dead as to make him our LO hitter. More ABS for Pillar on this team is not something we need.
  14. Lol. Tell her never to log in on here or you will be in numerous scraps defending her very quickly
  15. hmmm....Don't you think MLB is going to smell this sudden lack of cooperation from the Dom Rep? If they don't come down hard any ball player who makes mega millions can buy and/or intimidate their way out of any charge/potential conviction, if that's a major discipline threshold. Admittedly, in this case we don't know why she is doing it. Could be protecting the kids or he bought her a 5 carat diamond to make up. I think the facts at the time of the charge will carry the most weight with them for these reasons. If they are in his favour he will be ok. MLB is going to be paranoid about the imbalance of stroke with Jose and his wife in this situation.
  16. MLB will review the reports/statements of witnesses etc at the time and assume there are other reasons she won't cooperate as alluded too. I don't think the dropped charges will factor that much.
  17. HONOLULU (AP) -- Maui prosecutors are moving to dismiss a domestic abuse charge against suspended Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes because his wife isn't cooperating. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kerry Glen said she expects to file documents Wednesday to drop the case. Reyes' wife won't talk to prosecutors or return to Maui, she said. "The complaining witness, Mr. Reyes' wife, is what we call an uncooperative witness," Glen said. "At this point, I have no other avenue for prosecution." Reyes was scheduled to go to trial April 4. He pleaded not guilty to abusing a family or household member. David Sereno, his Maui defense attorney, couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The former New York Mets shortstop was arrested Oct. 31 at the Wailea Four Seasons Resort. According to a recording of a 911 call released by police, a hotel security guard reported the woman had injuries to her leg and scratches on her neck. Reyes was released after posting $1,000 bail and was ordered to stay away from his wife for three days. Reyes' wife rebuffed requests for cooperation through a Maui attorney she hired, Glen said. Glen will ask for the case to be dropped without prejudice, meaning she'll have about two years from the date of the alleged offense to refile charges if Reyes' wife eventually cooperates. "For misdemeanor offenses, we cannot force an uncooperative witness to come back," Glen said. Reyes was placed on paid leave under Major League Baseball's new domestic violence policy pending completion of the criminal proceedings. The MLB and the players' association agreed to the policy in August following a series of high-profile domestic violence cases involving NFL players. Reyes was the first player affected by it. The MLB declined to comment on prosecutors' intent to drop the charge against him. ------ AP Baseball Writer Ronald Blum contributed to this report.
  18. I was thinking same on a fan push for Cecil as closer. He had it last year and lost it.(his arm was hurting in ST). I think Dinger is right. Most fans just don't realize how incredible he was 2nd half 2015. At least as dominant as BJ Ryan and Ward at their best for us. He ain't no loogy. I too like him where he is now though.
  19. I can't bare to watch that line up but Cecil being crisp is music to my ears. A whole year of his 2nd half last season would be stunning. f*** was he good, and it hurt when we lost him.
  20. Ultimately this is on Shapiro. Bucks got to stop somewhere. He needs to reign in Gibby's decisions on roster spots when he is intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
  21. It's rid-ic-or-ous. I'm so pissed off. What a way to start the day. Tell me this is Gibby and not our new fearless leader. Tepera and Thole are scrubs I can somwhat live with. Using useless EC while optioning Pompey and Ceciliani is what gets me the most. The guy must have pics of Gibby, cause he sucks.
  22. Just logged in and saw this. Don't f***ing tell me Carerra over Pompey and the Italian in a win year. Full retard.
  23. Read that thread and some of the projections. Hard to expect 4.3 WAR from Pillar again and Estrada to repeat etc. But I expect more from Tulo and a full season of Stro etc.
  24. Interesting these predictions. It makes me curious on the reasons why some would pick less than last year's 93. Loss of Price? Injuries? BoSox better (although they spanked us 2015) Cola collapse? All of the above?
