  1. Its time to call it BJMB: - 49% of the way through 2016. - Jays 5.5 out and in the WC race. - Rotation has been better than expected but falling off some. Offense, D and Pen have underachieved most expectations. - Zeke and Saunders over achieving. SP Sanchez has been more than the vast majority thought. Devo fitting back in well. - Some key injuries Floyd; Cecil; Tulo and Jose at various times. - Yes, Tulo and Martin are still alive and haven't forgotten how to hit. - If the pen had pitched as expected, we are likely in 1st place. I think BoSox are a better team than BALT, but even with the fall off I expect in the O's rotation I think the O's pen and offense holds the lead, as much as I hate them. They are just having one of the "all goes right" seasons so far, with tons of pop and solid D. Its a no brainer for them to add an arm(s). I look to us to be in a dogfight for 2nd or 3rd all year and getting a wildcard spot, and think we win 89 and not the 93 I first projected.
  2. If he starts throwing the ball better I wouldn't care if he tweeted a picture of himself f***ing a chicken. We need the real Stroshow back.
  3. Up 4-0. Read stories to my kid. Turned on the gm to watch Storen blow it up. f*** do we need a real lefty. Cecil, please come back as the real and filthy Cecil
  4. Blah blah blah. If you don't care so much get off social media Stro. Throw the f***ing ball better. We need ya.
  5. That's just bad execution. Eddie has to put that ball in play. Too bad.
  6. Tough to know without a translator from Alabama
  7. So Pillar. Amazing catch. Clutch double and then he f***s up trying to take 3B with 2 out with Zeke ahead in the count.
  8. Great hit and didn't get picked off going to 3B. Let's tie this up!
  9. Martin framing up a storm tonight.
  10. Some good ABS but just can't get the big hit we need so far. Argh.
  11. Atta boy Zeke. Let's get him across. We have squared up a few balls already.
  12. That is nasty nasty change.....
  13. Sounds like quintessential Gibby logic to me.
  14. Wrong. If a FB V number incorporates all his FBs, including the much higher % of 2S FBs he now throws, obviously the avg FB V will go down because he doesn't throw the 2S as hard as the 4S. Its really not that difficult to understand. His 2S FB is actually a tick higher in V this year than last and only a little bit lower than 2014. There is a larger drop in V on his 4S FB compared to 2014. My post was about the reason for the overall drop in V.
  15. Lawrie back to sucking at the plate for the ChiSox with an 84 wRC+ and K% of 30. yikes. We made out like bandits on JD no matter what happens, not to mention we don't have a sniff of the post season, like we did in 2015, without him.
  16. Yup. everything slower. Avg FB down 1.5 MPH (probably because of 2S increase) and CB 2.5 MPH slower avg. I wonder if this is his new approach or the knee injury changed his ability to create more V? You wouldn't think it would but I have no idea.
  17. Not a huge fan of Dirk but agree with most of what he said. Looking at these 2014 Stro highlights I see: Stro with mojo Location mix 14% use of filthy CB 4S FB use setting up the breaking ball. (this pitch was thrown 44% 2014 and 2016 7%) GB% of 53 - excellent
  18. The call on Kirk Gibson's WS home run after he limped to the plate is such a classic.
  19. You threaten to beat someone unconscious on the street for insulting you and then ask them to grow up because this is a public forum? While you were beating them on the street would that not be a public venue?
  20. That's sorta true. Steve Carlton went 27-10 on a 1972 Phillies team that 59-97. I still think a staggering performance with a win total that at least indicates he was pretty f***ing good winning that many gms on a team that lousy. He pitched 350 innings that year lol. He is one of the best Ive ever watched. Still remember the Phillies-Expos series playoff series when they faced him. With a very good pitcher wins over a long career could be a decent indicator of their value(assuming they play on some both bad a good teams) but there other stats that much better directly correlate to their value IMO.
  21. The 3rd inning he looked like 2014-15 Stro. The rest of the game he sucked.
  22. Thats a good point. His other big "claim to fame" with some is that I don't think he ever gave up a MLB Grand Slam HR. "An innate ability to limit the damage" some would say lol
  23. Heard an interview with Jim Palmer this week from the O's crew. Only thing he talked about in terms of reviewing a few starters was how many wins they had and ERA. He didn't mention anything else. I know he is 70 and had a lot of success, but it does amaze me that someone wouldn't beef up their analysis with some of the tools that are available now. "Wins" has got to be the most over rated stat for SP available. It actually annoys me now when people say "X team has to get him the runs to get him the win, or he isn't in line for the win and can only lose" etc etc.. Obviously the goal is to win, but its a team game with so many variables.
