  1. Varsho is truly an elite OF defender. Almost every game he seems to make a play with low catch probability. JT just rolls along...HR.
  2. Jays Central just had a great spot on Davis Schneider. Didn't know he lost his older brother a couple years ago. I'm not crying, you're crying. That kid is a gem, no matter how his career turns out.
  3. Manoah through 5. 5 hits 0 BBs (encouraging) 4K 55 strikes in 81 pitches. Better
  4. I respect optimism my dude. This board is full of Bears and Bulls. I consider myself a Beaull. I started writing out some point by point responses - then said f*** it. I predicted an 85 Win season. I'll leave it at I am more confident in that prediction now, than when the season started. Also, I'll be very f***ing happy if you are right.
  5. Odd choices. Pearson has best outing of his career (arguably) and down he goes. Up come 2 arms with track records but no real spring and limited build up AAA reps. We barely survive the Romano experience the night before hanging on to W, and last night Swanson craters into an L. Pen use choices are about the easiest thing to second guess and have perfect hindsight on in baseball, so I'm not ticked off. More head scratching. I am more concerned about Green than any of this frankly given he just came out from under knife recovery late in '23.
  6. Schneider says Green has shoulder soreness. Gausman wasn’t his best today, but a big step forward from first two starts.
  7. Just watching PVR and caught up. Holy s***. Gausman is back. Varsho will win a Silver Slugger & Platinum glove, and Jays will win the Division. Its ordained.
  8. Just drink in the feel good vibes of a 4 game (5 after today) win streak I guess and every-ting is irie mon.

I thought there was only "randomness" in baseball playoffs? Luck and momentum with teams peaking at the right time can take a team far. We have seen the Habs, Oilers and Flames make big pushes to the final after squeaking in, but none of those 3 closed the deal. Bruins got tossed last yr in the 1st round by FLR after a record breaking regular season. That was painful. Hoping my Bruins take it to the Leafs again this year.
  10. Term troll dunking after 18 gms lol. IKF wont end up with a 145 wRC+ and Turner won't end up with over 200. Its all unicorns and rainbows now, but its a long season. I remember a guy named Chapman who had a hell of an an April in '23. Wasn't so great after that. I remember a guy named Belt last year who had a 48 wRC+ in April and ended the season at 138. Early returns are exceptional but there will be regression towards projected. What we need is the big guns pick up that slack on O. Last night showed some of that. Give us more!
  11. Great f***ing win! Romano ballsy. Another great start. Go for the throat tomorrow!! Sweep.
  12. Yes, he looks better making those close slides that Vlad's beached whale thrown out yet again - makes safe sign - routine.
  13. How can you not love the hustle of Schneider. Ran into wall the other night full on and lays flat out for that. Huge catch. Easy double if he doesnt get it. Wow.
  14. Love the Kooch with swagger and wanting the ball vs Judge. In '22 he would have walked off gladly handing the ball to Schneider.
  15. 100%. His numbers against the FB are just dropping from 2021. I think his 2 big shots this year were breaking balls. Can’t remember the last time I saw him barrel up high V and hit it out.
  16. Over the last 8 years in MLB lots "core" players on pretty successful teams haven't become what was hoped due to injury, free agency as their window ran out, or they just never became what they hoped. Thats a fairly long runway to draft, acquire and develop additions or replacements to the "core". Thats exactly what they said they would do back in 2017. Then you have orgs who have had to deal with unforeseen events like generational player Franco being ousted from baseball, an arm like Bauer gone, and a Tatis Jr getting 80 gm PED suspensions out of the blue. I don't discount the challenge of dealing with Vlad so far in '24 and all of 23, but Bo has been a pretty consistent 4-5 WAR ish player. This FO has done a pretty good job IMO too, but I don't think they are alone in these challenges in assembling an 85+ win team. Comes with the territory. Thats why they get the big bucks. Rogers has also made a substantial investment in payroll increases through FA's to help augment the "core", where they have lacked. So much has changed since we played the O's in the 2016 wildcard game. That was a lot of runway ago.
  17. Let’s go boys. Good at bats. Make em pay!!
  18. Love playing the Yankees. Game 17 and it feels like a playoff game. Every pitch matters.
  19. Totally agree. 2022 was an anomaly of putridness for Berrios. He is a 2-3 in a strong rotation. He isn't an elite ace but they are unicorns anyway. The guy has the equivalent of 6 200+ IP seasons in his career already. Durable as hell so far. His career FIP & ERA are equal. He is getting LHH out this year so much better. Thats the big key for him. His last 2 starts have been better than first 2 on expected stats, which is a good trend.
  20. Saw a Chris Black X post this am about Berrios expected stats. Bottom line is he has been very good but also very lucky. Hard hit balls right at people and good D. xERA - 4.52 ERA - 1.05 FIP - 3.68 (same as xFIP) 0.5 WAR
  21. BoSox should have paid Mookie. The player is an absolute Boss. #HOF career without a doubt. Watching LAD & SDP play each other is star gazing.
  22. Listened to Dr. Andrews and Verlander on Blair and Barker this past week. Really insightful what focus on max V is doing to arms - especially young ones.
  23. His average 4S FB 100.5 this season. Crazy.
