    There's nothing wrong with bringing in Lowe, and even giving him some rope, but he should have been pulled when they had a shot to get the double play. Only a 36% groundball rate this year, they have better options for that job.

    There's no logic in the excuse that we'll see a move in the next few days that would have affected Valencia's spot on the team. Valencia's spot never should have been in jeopardy, because whoever they bring in over the next few days should have been replacing the ******** eighth reliever, not Valencia. Colabello should be down right now, and they should be preparing to move to a seven man pen. How many times does Martin have to end up on 2nd for them to realize that having a 3-man bench is retarded?

    Since always. It's always been Gibby's say on which players round out the bottom of the roster. A lot of GMs have similar relationships with their managers, and it's always f***ing stupid. I've gone from being an actual fan of Gibby to begin hating him as the manager in such a short time.

    Yeah I don't get this at all. You talk about improving team chemistry and you get rid of one of the guys who can be considered the heart of the clubhouse? Even if they're dumb enough to not realize how valuable he is on the field, what makes them believe he's less valuable than Colabello off it? The only possible explanation is that they just don't expect to ever need a backup outfielder, and therefore prefer Colabello's bat over Valencia's in a pinch-hit situation.

    The Rays haven't made any very notable moves since Silverman took over, and the Athletics have made very questionable or downright poor moves since Zaidi left. In the meantime, the Dodgers have made an incredible transformation for the better. Until those teams show us that they're just as good without those executives as they were with them, there's no way we can claim they're helmed by some of the best executives in the game. I don't even know why this conversation is happening, ranking executives is just about the dumbest thing you can do as a baseball fan. There's absolutely no basis in it, beyond a delusion that you know more than you do.
