    They already said the team had interest in resigning him after the season and was unsure about trading him before the trade deadline, in other words, they don't want to trade him unless they felt like they could get something good for him and then re-sign him in the offseason. Now that his stock went up, it makes sense to try and trade him again for a real return.

    They probably want to see what we can get for him vs. keeping him, if they like him they will probably try to resign him anyway, doubt we are getting any kind of discount for doing it now.
