    So far in July he's been 14/51 with 2 walks at .890 OPS, he seems to be trending at the right direction.

    I don't see that happening after less than a season of when they gave up top prospects to get both Cano and Diaz, it's like surrendering without putting up a fight. It's not like they have a need for an elite closer right now in a pennant race...

    It's amazing how many expensive players fall off a cliff once they reach mid 30's. Probably front office sees the success they had with Giles and think they can do the same with Diaz...

    Romo seems very similar to Hudson stats wise, advanced stats don’t like both of them but Hudson is better if you look at ERA.

    I just noticed Donaldson is already at 3 WAR for this season (about 400PA), since 2013 he's averaging over 5 WAR per season and we somehow managed to trade him when he only put up 1.3 WAR. Say what you will about Shatkins and their professional structure vs. AA the cowboy, Shatkins handle on players and trades has been a disaster. It's like the common say about Communism, you can't make everyone rich but you can make everyone poor. Instead of hitting gold sometimes, they seem to strike out all the time.

    That would make sense if it was the NBA and Stroman was Kawhi. And even there, Kawhi didn’t care.

    I’d be happy if it’s the Yankees just because Stroman is a New York native so I’m sure he will be happy going to a NY team. Hell, if I’m Atkins and I have similar packages from two different teams, I’m asking Stroman where he wants to go between the two.

    That is so sad, poor guy. For some reason I also felt he had terrible luck with injuries and now this... RIP

    Nationals released Rosenthal, can we please sign him? Might be another Ken Giles type project.

    Bummer, I was counting on him having a breakout year and then we trade him for a good package in the deadline.

    I guess they hope he turns into Jose Bautista by the time Vlad and Bo are ready to compete.

    Hard to say that he deserves it, you basically pay him huge amount of money for past production. While he’s still elite, I believe his defence been falling off a cliff for a while now so it’s hard to believe he will continue this pace until he’s 40.

    Can’t believe how so much talent can be so wasted by freak injuries, I really hope he saved most of the money he made because I don’t see any life changing amounts coming his way.

    I guess that changes my perspective on him... But in general my sense of him was a young guy that looks like he can hit the ball. Hitting/power are the hardest tools to find so that makes him valuable. If the team decided to DFA him then getting something out of nothing is clearly a win.

    Not sure why would we trade him, I understand we have a surplus there but he’s a good young player.

    If you replace the name Vlad with Bryce Harper, I completely agree. Can't believe MLBTR project him to receive 14 years and 420M...
