  1. Not two of the quintessential Trout hits but similar results.
  2. Well at least he does that well lol. That was a missile into the RF corner.
  3. This is a nightmare for LA since in taking him out you're losing one of your best hitters and the pitchers have to hit going forward.
  4. It's the opposite for me. I think Gleyber is far more valuable IRL as a MIF - even a poor defensive one - while being younger and less injury prone (I think?). Meadows has an extensive injury history going back to his minor league career and he's basically a DH. I'd lean Gleyber for those reasons alone but I think it's close as well. If this is a redraft though I might take the Meadows side for this year.
  5. Biggio has been worth 3.7 WAR over 176 games, I don't know what your definition of special is but that's a very good player. The Blue Jays probably don't give a s*** what his last name is as long as he's a good player.
  6. Did the Rays just get out of the inning after getting 2 outs? What the hell just happened?
  7. It's frustrating how our talented young players are prioritized over the one dimensional 1B/DH? Am I reading this right?
  8. Kiermaier knows he didn't have to jump for that. *******.
  9. Salvador Perez is statistically one of the worst defensive catchers in the league. Since 2016 he's the fifth worst defensive catcher among those qualified. Runners stealing is largely on the pitchers.
  10. Yeah I can't disagree with this. Visually deGrom appears like the most dominant pitcher I've ever seen. However, peak Kershaw had maybe the best slider in history, a wipeout curve and pinpoint command of all his pitches, and with the benefit of future knowledge we know that his fastball-slider tunneling was basically untouchable.
  11. I think you guys are really selling Kershaw short here. 2013-16 Kershaw had 30 fWAR and 31.7 RA9-WAR since he's always outperformed his DIPS. Peak Kershaw wasn't pumping 101 in the late innings like this freak of nature but he had two of the best breaking balls in MLB history with even better command so I think peak wise he's definitely there with deGrom, if not better. 2016 Kershaw was in the midst of putting up a 9+ WAR season. With that said I don't think I've ever seen a starter with stuff this outlandish in my lifetime. If deGrom had this stuff coming out of the bullpen with no extra added velocity he'd still be the best reliever in the game easily, that he's able to do this for 7+ innings at a time is unheard of.
  12. It's mind boggling. He's hit 85 and below several times.
  13. Aroldis Chapman has 16 strikeouts in 6 innings. His new splitter is filthy.
  14. Remember that pitchers are (unfortunately) hitting this year. The actual league SLG excluding pitchers is .398. The league slugging in July of last season was...also .398, smaller sample + long layoff from baseball. In August it rose to .424. League slugging in April of 2019 was .431. 2018 April was .408. Although the ball has been deadened, the weather affects things a lot. I don't think I can recall this many snow days in 2019, and obviously it wasn't a factor at all in 2020.
  15. Ah yes, noted gold glover and defensive wiz Rafael Devers showing Biggio how it's done.
  16. Nothing against Tim Mayza, I like him, but do you really want him facing JD Martinez and Bogaerts as the tying runs with the handedness advantage? This move was fine especially with the off-day tomorrow, smart to play the matchup there when it doesn't cost you anything and Mayza was already at 20 pitches anyway.
  17. Milone just blows 84 past Arroyo.
  18. There's something tantalizing about watching a guy sitting 84 make a very potent lineup look stupid. The Red Sox can't time him at all. The fact that he's racking up the swings and misses is awesome.
  19. Semien just totally punked Garrett Richards after all the pickoff attempts.
