  1. Maybe he can be a DL replacement. I'm foggy on the rules.
  2. They both suck but Zaun would have done it painfully seriously.
  3. Well it's either him or Kratz. Navarro couldn't catch a knuckleball to save his life and Martin has been very clear that he doesn't want to catch Dickey anymore and there would be no point of putting him through that with Dickey likely to be left off the playoff roster.
  4. Hum... I guess they wanted to audition a lefty. He wasn't on the 40 until now so I don't think he'll be playoff eligible. Perhaps they should have done this sooner.
  5. Pretty much but that music though... so good.
  6. Yes you're right. I was thinking of SeniorFelix.
  7. Was he ever tried in the wildcat? That seems like something he might have been able to pull off.
  8. This made curious to see if anyone had dug into the question of how Tebow's skills would translate to the CFL. FWIW, Warren Moon says not well though his insights aren't really different than what everyone else is saying. You can't cut it in a three down league if you can't throw: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/9234640/warren-moon-tim-tebow-throwing-not-cut-cfl
  9. He's an old timer like me. Was pretty active 10 years or so ago on the old board.
  10. Risky click of the hour.
  11. Not nearly as much as the dog hates the turtle that bite it in the crotch.
  12. Michael Jackson popcorn gif
  13. No and he's an objectively terrible receiver. It's not an option. Thole (or failing that Kratz) needs to be added to the 40 in September to catch the remaining Dickey starts.
  14. Yeah that's fair. It would have been a legitimate question to ask. I'm not sure if they did.
  15. I think it's more about... Britton's career OBP vs LHH .285 Britton's career OBP vs RHH .318 To be honest, frankly I don't have a strong opinion about the move. It was perfectly defensible (and worked out) but I think running with Saunders (who is a better hitter overall and was having a good game) would have been perfectly defensible too.
  16. I'm only going to make dough tonight. Had burgers anyways. Tomorrow I'll top that dough with sea salt, tomato sauce, friulano cheese, genoa salami, roasted red peppers, artichoke heart, fried onion and maybe mushrooms if I pick some up. I'll probably post a pic in Around Baseball since that's the main pizza thread.
  17. Just move Pompey to the OF in that scenario. No need to burn two separate players for the pinch running late inning defensive OF role.
  18. The only lineups that require two replacements are the ones that don't already have both Upton and Pillar in them and if they're not both in the lineup than one of them is available defensively so you don't really need a 6th outfielder. That being said the extra lineup spot will have to be used on something. Whatever it is seems pretty extraneous at this point whether that's Goins, Zeke, Bolsinger, Barnes.
  19. If you're saying that than you must be assuming Sanchez stays in the rotation. Do we know that?
  20. Sucked donkey ass for the Tigers last year so he was pretty much forgotten going into this year. He's been on my radar screen for awhile but I'm not sure why. His MiLB stats aren't even that great. He played well for the Cards in LOD and I scooped him up when he was dropped. As is typical, I was completely asleep at the wheel in this league.
  21. Because they didn't make a new underjersey just for the occasion.
  22. Yeah depending on who is in the lineup that day, I could see that making sense. I mean Pillar was the every leadoff hitter for a bit and so was Zeke. Barney's even started there and possibly some others I'm forgetting. There's definitely been some poorer choices made than Upton leading off against a LHP.
  23. Over the last 14 days, his OBP is .381. That's high enough to make him a good leadoff hitter but he won't sustain that long term. He's at .322 for his career (.352 against LHP and .310 against RHP).
  24. If the trade happened before Happ and Estrada than it was probably a LaCava trade. Not that it really matters though. No one's going to complain about the Lacava portion of the offseason even if that particular deal turned out poorly.
