  1. The "suit" in this case is the Pittsburgh Parrot costume.
  2. The guy in the suit dealt drugs to the players involved in the Pittsburgh trial. Since you brought it up, I figured you would know this.
  3. It's all this guy's fault: http://unclebobsballparks17.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/threeriversstadium006.jpg.w560h374.jpg
  4. Well that helps explain why the Jays DIDN'T try him as a reliever.
  5. Played for the Montreal Expos and had the misfortune of playing in the same era as the most celebrated leadoff hitter of all time.
  6. No need to try him as a starter when the Jays already did that for you.
  7. Well since everybody's doing it: 14 Mookie Betts 18 Julio Urias 24 Henry Owens 39 Alex Jackson 87 Aaron Blair 94 Miguel Almonte 97 Jeff Hoffman
  8. Maybe Ortiz should do the bow and arrow thing next time. Remind the Rays that they used to employ the guy with the most obnoxious celebration in the game.
  9. I think this is a very real possibility.
  10. Perhaps I held on to him too long. Too many teams out of the race.
  11. I'm really surprised there's no interest in Rajai. This is a top 100 player, CF eligible. You would figure someone could use a guy like this if only for bench depth.
  12. RE: Chris Young. I think it was BTS who posted this in the Around Baseball thread: http://emeraldcityswagger.com/2014/07/26/chris-young-ace/
  13. Rajai Davis, Chis Young, Pat Neshek are all on the board. Best pick wins. Surely these guys can be useful to someone.
  14. Sean Nolin is still rehabbing in Class A advanced. Don't know how close he is but it's not like there's an immediate need so yeah he should be an option. It will be nice to have him fully healthy. The team needs a starter they can call up from the minors.
  15. Lol. The brother and the father have the same face. Obvious family photo is really, really obvious.
  16. So I've finally has enough of a particular poster (probably not who you think it is). How do you put someone on ignore?
  17. Thanks for posting this. Between this and today's start, I think we can all feel somewhat relieved that reports of Hutch's demise were premature. Maybe the problem was opposite, maybe the long layoff around the All-Star game threw him off or maybe it was just nothing but normal variation. In any case, it's hard to know were to set expectation for Hutch ROS. He's essentially saved the rotation by providing more than could have been asked for but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have more to give. The pessimistic instinct is to think he'll turn into a pumpkin anytime now but that's probably not entirely rational.
  18. Rajai Davis and Chris Young are available for best offer.
  19. Too much value tied to CF defense.
  20. I think the only relevance of the Wells contract is as a huge red flag for a Colby extension but it looks like the team never really had the means to do that anyways and now he sucks so much, he's probably played himself out of Wells money anyways.
  21. I don't think it's fair to say that Sale was a worse pick than Deck. Sale was a high school guy so he was inherently more risky whereas Deck was supposed to have a decent floor which he clearly didn't. Sure Josh Sale hasn't moved past high A but he's two years younger than Deck and has missed development time. Deck, as a college guy, should have been in the majors by now and he's missed zero development time. Both are about the equal amount of fail and Sale only on account of youth, has the better shot of rescuing his carreer.
  22. Pearce could have even played some first through the Encarnacion injury. Yeah, real bummer that we missed out on him.
  23. I already shifted the discussion away from Wells in my own post.
  24. It really wasn't a bad draft for the Jays overall. Sanchez and Syndergaard in the supplemental were excellent picks.
