  1. I don't understand this from the Diamondbacks perspective. Why not just trade Didi for Greene straight up? Wouldn't that be better value?
  2. The winter meetings are a bloated anachronism from a pre Internet world. There are way more efficient ways for teams to share information now than forcing everyone into a hotel. From what I understand, the hotel where they host it is immense anyways and the teams aren't even forced into close proximity. The whole thing is full of impromptu journalists and lickspittles trying to get into the industry. I can't blame AA for not liking it. You probably can't get into an elevator without some twerp looking to network making a pitch at you and/or someone trying to pump you for information. It's probably a living hell.
  3. Which ones?
  4. Seems like a guy with a solid 2015 MLB projection should be worth more. I can see the argument for Hoffman being on the list because he was such a big time draft prospect but SRF and Pentecost need to do more to earn it. Tirado doesn't make much sense either.
  5. The Castro/Laibourt debate is an ongoing thing. A lot of people like him more because he's a LHP who throws hard but then again I hear a lot of people say he profiles as a reliever so I don't really get it.
  6. Actually, I'm pretty sure WAR is context neutral and doesn't factor "leverage". For that you'd have to look at something like WPA (Win Probability Added).
  7. Laibourt over Castro is interesting. A lot of scouty types really like him but this board mostly ignores him.
  8. AA would look like a total hypocrite if he went and signed this SS after dumping another SS for a one time incident with a gay slur. Not going to happen. In fact given that he faces potential jail time, I wonder if anyone's going to bother. It really doesn't seem like a good idea once you consider the whole picture with Everth. It's too bad because he had considerable talent but he won't be the first athlete to ruin a promising career.

Well that's really going to help her divorce proceedings... What kind of bizarre mental state do you have to be in to think that prowling on teenagers on the Internet is a good idea?
  10. It's COULDN'T care less. I don't usually play grammar police but I'm pretty sure this has come up before.
  11. I'm pretty sure he means his powers of conduction.
  12. A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.
  13. Or he might just be some random raging *******. If it's Moogy, it's a very different persona to say the least.
  14. Pillar has never had anything handed too him his whole career. He's always had to work hard to prove his critics wrong at every level. I don't know why he should expect anything different now but you never really know with player's egos. FWIW, his manager at AAA last year said he handled his demotion like a true professional and was very supportive of his AAA teammates.
  15. It's a shame you can't trade with you LOD team. It could use an extra player or two.
  16. Yeah but ESPN is a major shareholder in TSN so they are going to prop it up however they can.
  17. Good work. I think you have something worth publishing here even if you publish in its current form as a conversation starter
  18. I think he closes and I'm fine with that. If he can be a 1st division closer, that's probably better then what he brings back in a trade.
  19. I'm pretty happy I opened that over my lunch break and not during work hours.
  20. So did they learn anything?
  21. Didn't see this posted yet so here it is. TVA renews their French language TV deal with the Blue Jays. http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article/102845656/blue-jays-renew-tv-deal-with-french-language-broadcaster-tva
  22. So many long guys.
  23. As long as Kawa is willing to take MiLB deals, I don't see why you wouldn't keep bringing him back. A lot of people seem determined to hate him just as much as the casuals love him but he's a useful guy to have around. Bats from the left, shows some plate discipline and covers all the infield positions. That works well when you have the luxury to taxi him to and from Buffalo as needed.
