  1. Just because a few slip through the cracks doesn't mean that the mods don't ban accounts simply for being recognizable as the Dogg.
  2. Why does someone who was already deemed ban worth get to keep coming back under new accounts? Isn't it common practice to ban Dogg accounts on first sight? Why is this different?
  3. That wasn't the joke though. The joke was that the life Moogy is presenting was just a front and that he would actually live the kind of life that he openly mocks on this forum. I doubt anyone here would actually care whether or not Moogy or anyone else has this fetish. If true, it's the kind of thing that earns you some razzing and that's it. Like you said yourself, Moogy is a big boy. He could have easily given us a 1000 word essay on why TL is the world's biggest idiot for thinking it was him but apparently he just got sick of himself instead and that's a positive. Why you would suddenly develop this bleeding heart for Moogy of all people is beyond me.
  4. NL is a good place for him. Could be a great asset there as a pitcher with a replacement level bat.
  5. Yeah it was weird that they felt compelled to draft Appel after having passed on him previously.
  6. That's what I mean by getting more talent for the money.
  7. Kike is awesome. Friedman likes to fill a roster with guys that can play shortstop because if you can handle SS, you can handle most of the defensive spectrum and Kike is another guy who fits that mold. He's also a respectable hitter. He put up good number in the minors last year but no one paid attention because he's not a "prospect".
  8. Concerns that the Astros made a mistake passing on Buxton have been pretty much put to rest at this point. They ended up getting more talent for the money going the route they did. Easily the best of their recent drafts.
  9. Man, that was the best part. Some guy who goes by the handle Moogy runs a company that translates and distributes adult manga. Could this Moogy's big business venture? I was really surprised by how few people even wanted to entertain the notion. There may have also been some concern that it wasn't right of TL to out Moogy (it it's indeed the same one) this way but all TL did was link to an open Twitter page and Web site so I'm not sure where that's coming from.
  10. Norris turning the corner? I would really love to see him pitch like he did in spring training.
  11. TwistedLogic is a valuable poster. I don't really understand why this up for debate. His opinions can be unpopular. I think he's wrong a lot but that's no crime. That's just like his opinion, man. He's clearly a positive contributor to the board and to its debates.
  12. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. It's not just about the deal on paper. It's also about the place on the win curve and the opportunity cost of "not" making a move. Take the, admittedly tired, example Kent trade. He's had a better career than 99% of prospects in baseball. He was traded to the Mets for David Cone AFTER the non-waiver deadline and left as a free agent. There's isn't a Jays fan alive who would undo that trade even though it was one of the best offensive 2B in baseball for just about the smallest fraction of a season that you can obtain in these kinds of deal.
  13. That's not really a relevant comparison though. No one advocating trading a prospect of Russell's stature (considered top 2 by many at the time) because for one thing, the Jays don't have a prospect like that.
  14. I don't think he was perma-banned. The "bans" here are more like time outs. IIRC he kind of flipped out after his last "ban" and told everyone he was never coming back and the period he wasn't around was just him holding his word.
  15. If you read the article it mentions that Dickey was tipping his fastball and that was giving opponents a chance to tee off on it. He need the element of surprise to make the fastball effective. It works if the hitter is expecting a knuckleball because it's not like it's actually a good fastball. The article also mentions that he was tipping his throws to first.
  16. I'm pretty sure he's said as much but that doesn't mean his new team won't want to re-initiate that dialogue.
  17. It's a seller's market.
  18. O.K. But since you don't really make any effort to be anything other than unpleasant, I'm just going to put you on ignore and be done with it. I really tire of the way you interact with people. It's incredibly condescending and you just don't seem to mind that it is. I find that seriously f***ed up but constantly telling you as much doesn't get us anywhere. I've tried being confrontational. I've tried sending olive branches. I'm tired of it. The only way it gets better is when you leave. I could keep pestering you in the hopes that you either change or leave but I'm already exhausted by this conversation alone. I don't enjoy my arguments with you. They are tedious. You get really hung up on certain word choices, you don't really seem to make any real effort to understand what I'm saying and instead want to dictate it to me. Overall you just seem to value me very little as a human being who might have something to say so frankly to hell with you. I give up.
  19. Care to enlighten me? If you're not going to change then it seems like the least you could do is come clean on whatever it is that you do. Whenever the suggestion is made that you are just trolling, that this is just some kind of disingenuous persona, a game where you use your rhetorical skills to irritate and anatagonize, you bristle at that. You genuinely seem insulted at the suggestion. But when you are called out on the many ways in which you needlessly annoy and antagonize people, you show no real desire to change and to have better interactions.
  20. You might be right and I probably shouldn't bother but once, just once, I'd like to finally get through to him. Every now and then, it seems like I hit a nerve but he always retreats back to his "I am the master" posturing. So frustrating. I'm usually pretty good at finding ways to relate to other people, finding common grounds, opportunities for civil exchange but with Moogy we just go around in circles. He seems to really hate me which though midly amusing really isn't my end game at all.
  21. This is an incredibly naive, simplistic if not frankly idiotic way to think. I mean you can get away with it by being in a position of power or contributing value in other ways but it's certainly not going to make your life any easier. You constantly take what other people say in the least generous, most negative light, you constantly nit-pic and talk down to people and you never give any credit to anyone other than yourself and then you wonder why you're a lightning rod. FFS, you should at least own up to your own m.o. If you don't see any value in relationship building and want to act like an entitled jerk then at least own up to it and don't go around complaining that the board has more patience with Spanky or with anyone else than it does with you.
  22. Actually, there were reports that AA was jumping up and down with excitement at the prospect of landing Buehrle.
  23. What do you mean "still showing". His BB/9 in AAA is the highest he's ever shown with the exception of a 7 inning sample in A- back in 2012.
  24. Will I do seem to annoy you and I don't really mind that I do, that's not my purpose. It's at most a fringe benefit. No I never lied. I tried to make a helpful observation and you got argumentative like you always do. If you're trying to establish that your position is a rationale one and that you're not a "hater". You might want to, you know, not act like a hater. Whether your hate is directing at the Rays per say or just at people who like the Rays is a moot point but keep holding on to that distinction if you think it discredits my position and reinforces yours but you're being pretty damn obtuse here. So you want to be respected for your ideas but don't care whether or not you're liked? Do you realize how hard that is to pull off here or anywhere else? Hostility will always undermine your point, buddy. It makes an actual exchange of ideas harder not easier. That in a nutshell, is why I question your honesty. Your behaviour and your stated intentions aren't aligned buddy. This is the wall I keep backing you up against. You're either clueless about human interactions or disingenous. There aren't really any other options.
