  1. He still has a lot of question marks. I don't find him terribly inspiring as a #1 prospect (though I don't disagree that he is the top guy).
  2. So what did you want exactly? People to expect Maeda to sign here because you said so. People to say Shapiro isn't all that great because look at how little he's done in the few weeks that he's even been here? It seems like everyone anyone tries to make a point, you just move the goal posts to a new point of contention so that you can keep the argument going. That's why we keep drifting off topic. And now you've progressed to complaining that all our posts are garbages after being willing to argue for pages and pages on those garbage posts. At this point, we need North to come in and remind us what your original point even was.
  3. It's crazy how long some of these guys can be in the system and still be next to total unknows. Deiferson has been in the system for four years now and he's still just a young guy in the low minors who might turn into something.
  4. Yes I thought I could make a positive contribution. I thought I had the necessary info to do so but when it came time to juggle all that info, I'm not so sure I did a good job. I was wrong. It happens.
  5. Remembering what Michael Saunders looks like takes a lot of effort.
  6. I'm regretting putting together a list. This was more straightforward when we voted one at a time. It's really hard to say this player who profiles like X and did Y in league Z is worth more than player who profiles like A and did B in league C. Trying to make so many of those judgements all at once just left me confused and I don't think I really applied consistent criteria. I really don't have enough conviction to defend any of my rankings, not even the ones at the top much less the ones at the bottom. I did come away with the general sense that the system is very poor at the moment.
  7. IIRC, he was left off both Blue Jays playoff roster despite their being a clear need for a LHP and/or long man. Hard to feel great about where your career is going after that.
  8. Wow you're really bitchy in addition to being very argumentative. If you think what we post is s***, I would encourage to you to get lost. You're pretty annoying to talk to anyways.
  9. That's intriguing... Maybe Puig would benefit from being on the same team as Abreu but I can't see the ChiSox putting together much of a package.
  10. Yes absolutely. I hope I didn't forget to include him.
  11. Yeah I mean I think a lot of us would prefer there may be more established talent to throw into the list but the bottom of the list mostly comes down to choosing between well known prospects who haven't been very good (Mitch Nay types) and total lottery tickets in the lower minors. Choosing the later is more a philosophical decision than an endorsment.
  12. So when you run out of arguments, you're just going to throw the "what do you nerds know anyways" line of reasoning at people? By that logic, why are you even here discussing any of this with any of us? I'm sure you can find other ways to waste time.
  13. There's no way to know if any of these guys are any good even the heavily scouted ones.
  14. I think you just won this meme.
  15. The most exciting thing about Yorman is that he's only 17. Lots of development left to happen but the early returns are good. Kid can hit.
  16. Yeah I'd say so. Benoit is good but really old. His value was very much tied to one last closer's gig.
  17. The system is so thin right now that you can justify nearly any order. Presumably Alford is top 3 on every list and everything else is probably a free for all.
  18. He's got a certain "something" though that makes him look like a pretty swell guy. http://500levelfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/russell-martin.jpeg
  19. Took me a second to realize he's the one in the background. Pretty sure the same thing happened the last time you posted this.
  20. I wonder if Mrs. Cecil intended to show that much boob on a Christmas card? Not that it's an Elaine Benes Christmas card or anything.
  21. Yeah sorry about that. I deleted my reply. I got confused because you switched the sequence around when you started talking about "got Hafner" and then the next line after that is the one about Blake. I'm a bit lumpen-headed and easily confused by these sorts of things. He traded Colon for Lee, Sizemore and Phillips. Broussard for Choo. Sabathia for 4 players including Brantley. He got Hafner and Cabrera for relatively little. Casey Blake for Carlos Santana. Traded Lee for 4 players including Carrasco. Signed Carrasco to best contract in the league.
  22. This isn't even a bad idea.
